White Stallion of Lipizza

Rereading some of my childhood favorites - love this book!If you like horses, or have a kid who likes horses, you'll enjoy this.

My almost 8 year old son, 10 year old daughter, and I all enjoyed this book equally. None of us is particularly into horses, but somehow the book and its descriptions captivated us all during our read-aloud time. It was a larger than life story (the descriptions were more riveting than YouTube video we watched to see the actual Spanish Riding School of Vienna) about a boy pursuing with determination and discipline the dream written upon his young heart. 100% recommended.

As a horse mad Australian child I read this book in the school library, as well as all the other Marguerite Henry stories. In the ensuing 40+ years I have seen three performances of the Spanish Riding School as well as visited the stud at Piber. When I looked at the kneeling knight at the stud it triggered something deep in my memory and on rereading the book it hit me. It is a wonderful story (I am still trying to find out if this, like so many of her books, is based on a true story) of a boy who realises a dream far beyond the expectations of his family. A wonderful read to plant that seed in any child's mind. As always Wesley Dennis does a marvellous job with the illusrations which add so much more understanding to the story.I would highly recommend this book for horse lovers of any age. My hope is that it will inspire in you the desire to see the magic of the white stallions with your very own eyes. It is truly one of the most spectacular living wonders of this world.

I love this book sooooooo much! I'm 11 and this just made me feel closer to horses because I can't ride them. I love all of Mrs. Henry's books so much! I have read almost all of them but my favorite two were Misty Of Chincoteague and The White Stallion of Lippiza. I can't ride because I live in the city but these books make me feel closer to them. I would highly recommend this book he all horse lovers old and young.

I hope my grands daughter likes it.

interesting but weak on content

It’s a good book that arrived quickly. My horse-loving daughter really enjoyed reading it.

Bought for an adult who loves these horse after seeing them perform. Excellent story

Got for my little sister I'm planning a trip to Vienna to see them and I want her to understand as much as possible first.I read the book first I has alot of facts about the Lipizzaner and Riding School. Font is nice and big with a few pictures.
