This is my 5th pair of scissors
I bought my first pair of Joyce Chen scissors before Amazon was even invented. I still have them. I bought them at the Boston Flower market as they were/ are the best scissors for cutting flowers in the garden. Now I buy them for myself and as gifts, I have a pair on every floor. My husband borrowed mine once too often so he now has two pair in his workshop. My kids have them, I gave them to their spouses as well. They never get dull, they never tire your hands, they cut better than all the other scissors I have ever used in 76 years and they NEVER break. I do live in fear that they will stop making them or degrade the quality but so far, so good! One of the best products you will ever acquire for so little money in terms of practicality , sturdiness and usefulness in your every day life.

The BEST SCISSORS!
Joyce Chen scissors are a sacred item in my house! You will use them for YEARS, and order new ones for all your friends, kids and relatives-- yes, they're THAT GOOD QUALITY!! Protect them from members of the family who want to use them to pry, saw or as a screwdriver! BUT BUT BUT, when the worst happens, sending them back for repairs or replacement is quick and easy. Great company and lifetime of pleasure. I'm a collage artist and own 3 pairs. I can cut tiny tiny paper objects perfectly, but they will also cut much heavier paper and things necessary for other art projects such as assemblages.

Bought for ease of use in preparing Lobster
These scissors are great. As a career chef, I love these things for how well they stand up to the abuse of a commercial kitchen. They're sharp, the tolerances between blades are great and they deal with the shells of crustaceans rather easily. Something that took tens of minutes now takes minutes and the product looks so clean due to the smaller width blades. 10/10

Great little scissors.
These are very well designed, more compact than most scissors, and easy to hold, even in arthritic hands. They cut very well and are useful for many little jobs in the kitchen, even for cutting flower stems.

My "Good Scissors" -- Even After 20+ Years
I bought a pair of these scissors in 1987, and they quickly became my favorites. They cut most anything I need (and yes, I tried chicken bones just to see), and they cut precisely and with almost no effort. They have remained excellent, sturdy, and sharp, and even though we have many newer pairs in the house, I still call these my "good scissors". I am tired of guarding them jealously to make sure my husband doesn't misplace them, so I finally decided to buy a couple more pairs; it will be nice to have a pair in some other rooms, because I tend to walk to the kitchen from everywhere in the house-- just to get my good scissors.

Nice scissors: rather stiff when new but better now.
We got 7 years of daily use out of the last pair before they rusted inside the plastic handles which then fell off. The new pair were quite stiff to operate when new, but gently bending them and applying lubricant to the pivot pin made them easier to use. Hopefully they'll last 7 years too.

Unbelievably Handy Scissors
We have had the same pair of these scissors in our kitchen for more than 17 years, and like the Energizer bunny, they just keep going, and going, and going ... Neither of us has used these scissors for cutting chicken bones or the other exotic uses mentioned on the packaging. Rather, they are just dead useful for everyday cutting: Opening sauce mix packets, removing the wrappers from blocks of cheese, even struggling through the obnoxious plastic packaging of modern electronic gadgetry like stereo headphones. They are surprisingly strong for their size, and very easy and comfortable to use. I recently ordered another pair to keep on hand as a backup, in case this current pair ever bites the dust. The only thing I notice is that after this many years, the two blades have separated very slightly, so that it takes a slight pressure from the fingers to keep the cutting edges in close contact. But this is a remarkably minor problem in light of the amount of use these scissors have received, and probably wouldn't be an issue if we hadn't used them to cut open the stereo headphone-type packaging. In sum, these scissors are amazingly handy, and find numerous uses in our household every day. I wouldn't be without them.

Have had a pair of these for over 10 years but showing the wear, so we ordered another one. Best scissors we have used int he kitchen to date. Only reason it gets 4 and not 5 stars is that they are pricey for scissors, but like any cook knows, quality tools are essential. Old pair is going to the garden for raspberry bush pruning and the like as its still in good shape after 10 years of heavy use.
