The lid is down properly.
As you can see the tin was leaking. The lid wasn’t down properly. It could have been a lot worse. Please make sure the lid is down properly.

Expensive but very pleased with the results
I managed to get some pallets cheap and decided to build a garden bar. Now remember, pallets are made from a combination of both soft and hard wood and each will respond differently to wood stain. Some panels darker and some lighter. The bar is roughly 9ft x 4ft and I have used 4 litres of wood stain (I have a 3rd x 2.5l arriving tomorrow). The stain covered the back wall (both sides) and both front, sides (but not inside) so it did not go as far as I thought it would. With the 3rd can I should be able to apply a 2nd coat to most (exposed) surfaces but just shy of £90 for wood stain does smart a bit.Paint brush washed out using the hosepipe.

Expensive, avoid.
I thought I was buying a top notch wood stain (do stain an expensive bird table) BUT this is nothing more than Cuprinol. I've used Cuprinol on countless occasions, Rustins reacts exactly the same as Cuprinol when applied, covers the same and dry's the same. Cuprinol costs £10 for 5 litres this stuff is £123.60 for 5 litres. I could have bought 5 litres of a cheaper but similar stain for £5 from B&M. No further comment.
