Still works great after 7 months. Used it for Windows and Linux installs with NTFS, ext4 and btrfs filesystems. Seems faster than a Mushkin Source II, WD Blue or Green SSD. Initially, I had a problem where it was recognized by the BIOS, but not the Windows installer. I had to use Linux and GParted to create a disk partition before Windows could install. This is a common problem with other brands of SSDs as well. I took away 1 star for that, but it's not unique to the KingDian brand or S280 model. My only other minor complaint is the cheap looking 2.5 inch black/white plastic case. But nobody can see the funky case inside my old Dell 3340 laptop anyway. For a budget $30 240gb SSD it works just fine. I'm currently running Linux Mint. For Windows, I'd probably opt for the 480gb version instead.

Honestly, I bought this on a whim because it was listed on the Buildapc sales subreddit. I was hoping to get the 480gb as it was 20$, but couldn't since it was out of stock within minutes. I ended up getting the 1tb for 80$ since it was also posted on the subreddit. Seeing that this is a Chinese SSD, what the hell right?Aside from the outlandish packaging, it works as intended. I immediately uninstalled my largest games on my Samsung 850 Evo SSD and installed them onto this drive just to see how well it works and so far so good. I mean it's just a drive but I guess we'll see how long it'll last. No complaints though.Well one. When I was installing into my case, I was plugging in the SATA power and the other cable, for some odd reason my other cables pinch thing broke and lodge itself into the drive. I mean it was easy to pull out just unsure if it was the cable that came with my motherboard or if this drive just ate the damn thing.Whatever. So far so good. I'll update this review if anything arises within the next 6 months. But for now, I can't complain. 80$ for a 1TB drive with NAND Flash. Sold! (For now)

This was bought as a replacement drive for an OLD windows machine that runs our light show. Set up was easy and painless, and it worked right out of the box. Reimaged drive from a master copy on our server and was back up and running in about an hour. So far it has survived the Florida heat in our shed, running 24/7.

Had the best price for an 240GB SSD.Still working two months later.I used it as a secondary drive. It was recognized by my BIOS but not in Windows 7 and required a workaround. If you use it as your main drive and install an OS on it, you probably won't have trouble using it.For those that that have it recognized by the BIOS but not by Windows 7, here as the steps I followed as best as I can recall:1. Click Start button2. Search for "Computer Management"3. In the left pane, select Storage -> Disk Management4. In lower center area, the disks are listed (i ) locate your new drive (ii) right-click of the left part of the disk row (where you see the disk number and disk capacity) (iii) select "Initialize"5. In the same lower center area (i) right-click the partition area (the right part with disk name and partitions) (ii) make partition "Simple Volume"Hope that helps.Those steps shouldn't be necessary for most people.

Avevo un "vecchio" portatile che, a causa del suo hard disk aveva delle prestazioni praticamente imbarazzanti. Questo SSD ha permesso di renderlo nuovamente scattante, rapido e veloce. La differenza di reattività tra un Hard disk e un SSD non ha paragoni. In particolare questo è molto economico e allo stesso tempo molto rapido. L'unico limite, dato dalla necessità di spendere il meno possibile, è la capacità. Ha solamente 110 gb effettivi e quindi non è possibile istallare un numero enorme di programmi e archiviare moltissimi file pesanti. Consiglio infatti di tenere sempre almeno un 20% dello spazio libero. Tuttavia l'hard disk che ora non è più utilizzato si può utilizzare come hard disk esterno per l'archiviazione dei file.Sono veramente contento di questo SSD, nonostante il prezzo molto contenuto si è rivelato una manna dal cielo per far rinascere un vecchio portatile, che nonostante avesse un hardware di tutto rispetto, aveva un tradizionale Hard disk che ne distruggeva le prestazioni. Consiglio a chiunque utilizzi un computer con un Hard disk tradizionale di passare a un SSD, provate e non ve ne pentirete. Se volete inoltre spendere pochi soldi vi consiglio questo.

Ottima qualità costruttiva, che è sinonimo di grande affidabilità, senza bisogno di spendere tanto-EDIT-Dopo pochi mesi l'unità C è diventata di "sola lettura", tipico problema che si ritrova nelle chiavette USB difettate, mentre la partizione nascosta con il bootloader di Windows è diventata inaccessibile...davvero inaccettabile, anche perché questo è già il secondo disco che mi dà problemi...mai più KingDian, in questo settore, meglio andare su produttori con esperienza consolidata...

l'ssd arriva non formattato:1- bisogna andare nel gestore delle partizioni di windows2- bisogna scegliere tra le opzioni GPT o MBR (per chi non se ne intende più di tanto potrebbe risultare una scelta a random)3- bisogna creare il nuovo volume e formattarlosarebbe stato più semplice che arrivasse pre-formattato no?comunque le prestazioni sono buone, quasi alla pari di un kingston A400 tanto per fare un esempio poichè avendone testato uno ne conosco le velocità.vedremo la sua durabilità nel tempo, poichè non è possibile valutarlo seriamente solo dopo poche ore dall'uso, quindi mi riservo di aggiornare in futuro la recensione.

Já avaliei uma vez mas a Amazon remove avaliações negativas. O ssd é rápido e funciona bem, mas por pouco tempo. Várias pessoas falam bem pois avaliam logo após a compra, mas após poucos meses de uso uso começou a apresentar erros de IO, a ponto de travar o Ubuntu. Dá erro de SMART, não permite mais formatação, e tentei formatar em baixo nível com hdparm, mas dá erro também. Produto ruim, não vale a pouca economia em relação a um de marca.

Premetto che l'ho installato su un portatile Dell con 10 anni di vita che purtroppo si ferma a connessioni Sata2, quindi non ho potuto sfruttare completamente la velocità del SSD. Comunque con una versione leggera di sistema operativo (win10 Lite) il notebook si avvia in pochissimi secondi ed è molto più reattivo nell'utilizzo delle applicazioni.Non ha dato nessun problema ne durante l'installazione ne durante l'utilizzo quotidiano.Per il prezzo che ho pagato il PC è rinato!!Ho dovuto aggiornare il BIOS.
