Grizzly Industrial G0863 - Grizzly Growler Cyclone Separator

I love this cyclone. I love that I can use bags and I can dump easily, in fact its so good I bought 2 of these. I have 1 on each side of the workshop. I exhaust vent outside so I don't have to worry about filters and for that these work perfectly. This way I keep my suction cfm high with my grizzly 2 hp collector motor that I mounted in my rafters to free up shop space and lessen noise.

I put this on a 2HP Grizzly with a canister filter. I'm in a garage shop, and move this around as needed. Plenty of suction for 2 4" hoses. Don't have to deal with the dust collector (DC) bag anymore. This one is far easier to change. It came dinged (not shipping damage), so a star off. Functionality was not affected.It is not as efficient as a larger cyclone would be, but it is very effective in keeping most of the dust, and all of the chips. I still have to clean the filter canister on the DC, but it will be a long time before I have to deal with what makes it to the DC bag. If you need a mobile setup, this is a good option. If you want to pipe your shop, you would likely be better off saving up for an all in one cyclone dust collector. My setup is temporary until I build a shop. Then I will set up a large system, and use this for other purposes.

Read a couple of reviews and watched one on YouTube. Didn’t get great comments. I decided to try it anyway. I am 100% satisfied. This is the first time I needed to empty it. There is basically zilch sawdust in the dust collector bag. So this cyclone is really doing a GREAT job.Because of the tight space that I had to put it in I made a modification on the suction hose connectors that keeps bag from collapsing. From the factory the connectors stick straight out. That got in the way of sticking it in a corner.

There were alot of dings and things put together sloppy from the factory. The drum is garbage in my opinion because it lacks air tight sealing I want. I bought this product for the cyclone because I refused to pay not much less for a plastic product. I'm happy I purchased this product. I fit it to my own salvage drum and capped off the bag suction line. There is no loss in power. I do not bag smaller particles but vent them out of the building. I have no idea how much it lets out as I only wanted to trap larger debris from going outside.

I thought about this purchase for over a month I won't lie it's a lot of money. but it's a lot better than a piece of plastic I tell you that. The cyclone works well. I own two of these and they both had flanges that had to be bent back straight after shipping. This item is a chunk cheaper directly through grizzly. The cyclone works well, I have it hooked up to a JET 2 hp 1200 CFM dust collector. The majority of dust and chunks ends up in the collection bin instead of the filter. The cyclone is built solid and sealed nicely. Based on other reviews, I expected the bin to be subpar, but figured i would give it a chance. The collection bin needs the cover to be reinforced in order to retain a better seal. The lid bows too easily. I ended up purchasing a different barrel for the collector bin, "Eagle 1601MB Blue High Density Polyethylene Lab Pack Drum with Metal Lever-lock Lid, 30 gallon Capacity, 28.5" Height, 21.25" Diameter".
