I actually like using the small versions of these when my ball was young and had no problems. However, moving up to the larger size, these have become a problem. The protrusion in the second picture is the main culprit. My ball now has a long scar down one side of it's body from rubbing against this as it's inside the hide. In addition, despite the bubble wrap packaging, these always come with some damage and cracks causing sharp edges. I have had to toss these for my ball's safety.

I would give this a 3.5 if I could. It has a good heft to it and the external texture and paint is quite realistic. However, I'm a little disappointed by how sharp the edges on the inside are (shown in pictures). There were also a few flakes that came off when I pushed at them on the inside. This should be a relatively easy fix, just sanding it down, but I wish the inside lip had a better finish that doesn't pose potential harm to my snake so it was ready to use when it arrived.

I like how this hide looks and it is a good size for a the 10 gallon tank we have a juvenile leopard gecko in.

Perfect for my little Brazilian Rainbow Boa. He loves to hide in it most of the day. Easy to clean. Heavy enough that It can’t be easily over turned.

Product came broken. It had been placed in a soft paper mailer and wrapped in bubble wrap. It's unusable, and I would have to drive at least 30 minutes to get a replacement that won't be here for almost a month. Disappointing. Also shows how fragile the product is.

My daughters Leopard Gecko loves this hide.

It's a great hide that my snake uses all the time, the problem being there's a lip around the bottom that my snake always, without fail, manages to wedge her poop in. It's one thing to clean poop out of an enclosure, it's another thing to scrape excrement out of a tiny corner. If you buy this, consider either cutting or sanding the ledge off... Or have a good supply of q-tips.

A good size for adult american toads. They love to perch on top and sleep inside.

While it turns out that my baby Boa isn't one for using hides, this is a great looking hide with a rough exterior that she can rub against to help with shed removal.
