How ia the durability??

For the price, you can't go wrong. I use this set about 5-6 times a year removing hard to get to bolts on an aircraft. They haven't let me down yet.

can anyone tell me the actual length of each socket? I'm trying to compare to Snap*n shallow set. Thanks

Okay, here you go: the 1/4 socket is 1 3/8 inch overall with a socket depth of 1/4 inch; the 9/16 is 1 9/16 inch total length with a socket depth of 7/16 and pretty much a straight line between for the other sockets. I am very happy with my set, and I am very glad I didn't spend the exorbitant amount of money for the more expensive set. Any other questions, let me know. Hope this helps. -Bruce

Do the splines go the whole depth of the socket?

Yes, they do. The socket is very shallow, since it is for hard-to-reach places, and the hex section is not much deeper than a normal nut, with an additional space for the end of the bolt in the bottom of the socket. To counter the previous response, I am very pleased with my set. I have torqued them up to 90 inch-pounds with no trouble. They do exactly what they are designed to do, and they are about a tenth the price of the competition. Two thumbs up on this product.
