Red Wall™ Virginia Creeper - Parthenocissus - Proven Winners - 4" Pot

I think if you are going to call plants "Proven Winners" they ought to survive the shipment & replant. The others seem to be doing all right. I am awaiting the growth and seeing how far they come this summer.They seemed to be packaged well except it was a bit difficult getting the tape off the little plastic pots but in fairness, HOW ELSE would they hold all the soil intact? There was a ton of popcorn packing as well so you kind of had to hold onto the plants and gently dump the popcorn out. It took a bit of time so as not to harm the plants however, it still did not work - One died. The ironic part was the plant that died was the most grown and seemingly healthy or mature of the 5. The others were very sparse in vines and leaves like a starter plant usually is.I realy hope the other 4 make it and are as prolific as they were claimed to be in the advertisement. I was going to buy more right away but given the circumstances, I will wait a bit and see if these thrive.Update 6/15/13 - All 4 that did survive are going thriving.

UPDATE: A season later I pulled it all out because it was growing out of control. The runners underground from which new vines sprout, were pushing 20ft in all directions from original planting. Suction cups did not damage brick or grout but did leave little black dots behind. Would recommend for rural applications only.Small plant but large root ball. They all survived. I hope this all means they'll grow fast. It was shipped within 30min of placing the order. Wow. But, 4 plants for $50: It seems a bit steep. Maybe it'll be amazing when it grows. Thanks***UPDATE: 2 weeks later it's starting to climb. That's fast. Still feel like it's twice the price it should be.***

Got a couple of these to help camouflage my laundry line posts. They arrived in perfect and colorful condition. Unfortunately, I think I planted them too late in the year (Minnesota does not have the usually mild weather that, say, Virginia has -- or HAD, prior to global climate change (IT'S A FACTUAL SCIENTIFIC THING, PEOPLE!!!). I'll check to see if I'm wrong when spring. Some plants can be far more resilient than thought. Regardless, I will order more of these this spring. I think they will be a fantastic addition to the backyard...and enhance and complement the color of the laundry that gets hung on those lines during "clothes drying season".

This gorgeous, very healthy plant arrived in great condition. I have no complaint with it whatever but am kicking myself for not doing better research before I ordered. I planned to use it to bring some life and color to a blank wall on my house, but between placing and receiving my order, I read that Virginia creeper will get underneath your siding and tear it off of your house! I really wanted it to work and briefly considered going ahead and planting it to see what would happen, but I eventually lost my courage and gave it to a friend, in whose large lot it is growing beautifully.

Out of the Four i order this one buy far the best one, last time i order one it was just a root with no leaves died within days the one i received today is nice, no leaves were broken, its packed very well be careful taking out of box its taped down so it doesn't get damaged in shipping i used a scissors to cut tape so i wouldn't damage leaves

I got a tiny Virginia creeper as ordered, but it was INFESTED with bugs. The second I opened the packaging it was an explosion of ants. I had to quarantine it and completely get rid of the dirt and packaging it was in and had to wash the plant and bare roots completely clean and repot it. Idk how they could have sent this without knowing it was 50% ants. It hasn't grown at all either, it's been a little over a week so I hope it pulls through.

Ordered 7 of these on a Thursday and they arrived Monday. Packaging was great. Plant quality ranged all over the spectrum. A couple were really great, though on the small side. One was mostly weeds, grass, and clover - way more weeds than plant. Two are extremely small and don’t look great. Honestly, this was the only place I could find these, so I was willing to take the risk. If all arrived in as great condition as the best two, they’d be worth the price. Take a gamble, if you’re desperate like I was. If you can find them elsewhere, that’s probably a safer bet.

I bought this to cover a fence of a house that we owned last year. Since then we have moved. Twice. When we left it was doing fine but admittedly, I had planted it out of season and left only three months after having planted it. I hope the new owners leave it alone. Grew strong when season was against it, I think it could be described as potentially a "vigorous plant".
