Cardone 22-1000 Remanufactured Hydraulic Power Steering Rack and Pinion Complete Unit (Renewed)

Bought this to replace my old steering rack that was leaking all over the place. The only thing missing was the large, thick rubber washers that are sandwiched between the mounting bolts and the bushings. I went to Lowe’s and bought some that were the correct diameter and just enlarged the holes in them. I should have bought 8 and doubled them up, but I went with 4 and it should be fine. I would deduct half a star for that if it was an option, but it’s not so I’m leaving it at 5. The rebate arrived in a timely manner. Install was very straight forward. I would highly recommend this item. Also, you might as well order some new tie rod ends since you’re going to have everything disassembled anyway.

The OEM P/S rack and pinion began leaking past internal seals long ago. I could never get used to the groaning sound when turning the wheels, especially with heavier steering loads, going slow or stopped. I removed the P/S hoses and blew carb and choke cleaner through one, and saw small debris come out. I had ordered new hoses and that verified it. It took a lot of effort to get the air bubbles out after completely flushing the system with P/S fluid and air compressor, pump, two coolers and all. It works beautifully now at 183,000. Very satisfied. Cardone has never disappointed me

So I went with cardone because USUALLY they are a good brand. NOT THESE Power steering racks!!! STAY AWAY FROM THESE!!!!!!!!No quality control on the parts or the assembly methods. 2 Power steering racks from them of the same model number for the same vehicle can be assembled totally different. I know that because I have 3 wheel alignments in to these mistakes.DON'T BUY THESE AT ALLLLLLLLL.

Liked the price, did not like delivery time

Install was easy. All bolts aligned up perfect for my 2000 Gmc Sierra. 1 week installed and so far no issues. Fingers crossed

The price was right. I submitted the paperwork for the $75 rebate and sent it to Carbon via UPS, and UPS lost it and denied the claim. Will no longer buy parts with a core charge from Amazon again.

I needed new inner tie rods and my rack was starting to leak, so I searched. So glad for Cardone! They were by far the cheapest even without the core return, but no one can come close to the price they were offering when I purchased mine. $120 core return on a $173 rack and pinion??? Sign me up! I don't know if that deal is still going on, but even without it, it's worth it.I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.
