Chef Craft 20494 Knife Sharpener, White, 1.75"

I had one of these years ago, but it came apart. I loved the one I had so I searched for a replacement. This is a better version with the rubber rings. It gives it a better grip when rolling on a smooth surface. For the price it does a good job. Easy to use.

I was so happy to find this item and I ordered two. It is nothing like those I have had in the past, which worked so well. Both of these totally fell apart when taken out of the package. One of the packages was already opened when it arrived - the clamshell had fallen away from the card. Then both sharpeners fell apart. On each, one side is firmly fastened to the post but the other wheel falls away. I have superglued them back together, but I'm not expecting them to provide much use. The stone seems terribly coarse as well. I'm going to try a more expensive one because I really like this style of knife sharpener when it is reasonably well made. I can't recommend this version at all.

I grew up with this style sharpener in the house. It is the best and easiest I have ever used. Just go slow and light pressure, until the blade is sharp. My children expect miracles and try to run the knife through it hard and fast 2 or 3 times and complain it did not work. Steel is not soft, ergo the ability to cut! Take your time, and work the steel. BTW. my kids will not use my knives as they are TOO sharp for them and are afraid to cut themselves.

I was expecting a knife sharpener roller of a larger size. Also, the rubber wheel covers are cheap and come off the wheels when you use it like it is supposed to be used.Probably one of the most disappointing items I have bought from Amazon.

This sharpener is handy when I 'my on a trip.

Right out of the package and it completely self-destructed.The added rubber additions were so loose they did not stay on for one stroke.After they fell off, I put a towel on the table (assuming bad traction) and made one stroke and it blew up. The material is garbage.My family had one of these growing up (50+ years) and it finally broke about 2 years ago. I was sad, but it lasted for an amazing amount of time. No compliant! This one is the same design, however they’ve manufactured it out of complete garbage. (Probably literally.).Do not buy!

Rubber rollers are not fastened to the sharpner and keep coming off. Will try to glue them in place but overall is a poorly constructed item.
