only received this battery 2 days ago, charged it straight away and so far so good, seems to be retaining power quite well and doing what is supposed to do

Only had battery for four months time will tell, so far no problems.

I installed the battery according to the instruction for my laptop, charged it up via the laptop, however my laptop doesn't accept it as being there. Therefore my laptop will not start up when the battery is installed and it will not run from the battery if I remove the mains cord. I have been into the bios and done everything I can find on the net to try and make it work, but all I have succeeded in doing is charging it up. Annoyingly its too expensive to send it back for a refund, so its going in the bin. Waste of money and don't agree with giving it even the one star which the amazon review system requires to acctivate this comment

According to BatteryInfoView, this battery GHU battery marked as 5200mAh/58Wh appears to use the same 'gas guage' battery controller with the same programmed in design capacity as the Toshiba PA5024U-1BRS which is 4400mAh/48Wh (even the manufacturer name and model strings are the same!). Doing the 4 full calibration cycles updated the Full Charge Capacity register (FCC) to 49,984mWh, with a programmed designed capacity spec of 48,400mWh. This may well be a good standard capacity battery, but it does not appear to be the high capacity type.
