TilleyLTM6 Airflo Broad Brim Recycled, Olive, 6 7/8

Purchased my original Tilley at the Annapolis Sailboat Show in the early 2000‘s and wore it consistently for years before setting it aside. Recent trip to the dermatologist and resulting biopsy indicated that I needed to do more to protect my head, face and upper body. Found that my trusty old Tilley was too small to be comfortable, so I ordered a new LTM6 but found it too small…even after following sizing instructions. Returned it and ordered two sizes larger and it fits well.The first order arrived folded multiple times in a plastic bag. Laid it out for two days and deep creases in the brim remained. Returned it to Amazon due to size and condition, and then ordered larger size. New hat arrived in a flat cardboard package with no creases. Much better condition. Due to fit and condition, it‘s a “keeper“.In the proper size, the hat fits comfortably loose and, if it is needed, the combination retention strap holds the back of the head and chin. It is water resistant and the brim provides both rain and sun protection. The hat packs flat (don’t fold it) for travel.I am pleased with my new Tilley hat and expect to continue using it for many years.

This is a replacement for an older Tilley hat. I had the older one for 20+ years and it held up great. Over the years it acquired many stains but held up nicely. The only con about a Tilley is the cost, it’s costly to buy, but it holds up nicely and I would say 20+ years of wearing it, it’s a good value.

I went to the manufacturer site to figure out what size to order and received a hat that fit just like I wanted. The material is soft, breathable and comfortable enough to wear all day.In the month or so since it arrived, I have only worn it around the house, the yard and in the woods out back but I like it very much. This was purchased for a trip we are taking several months from now but I feel like I have broken it in enough to be confident it will meet my needs for years to come. I will try to remember to update this review after my trip.For me, this will be a shield from excessive sun once we enter Summer with the added benefit that I like how it looks on me and so does my wife.I tend to sweat a lot when it is hot outside and do not mind if this gets a bit of a “worn and weathered” look to it — I prefer it, actually. The material feels washable and I saw video of a guy cleaning his with dishwashing liquid so, with a little periodic maintenance I expect to just keep on rolling along.Hopefully, this review was helpful to you.

Love this hat. The variety of sizes was helpful. Packs very well. The brim holds it’s shape.

Perfect for sun block. Fold in your pocket and still retains shape. Use for golf, hiking, boat.

I liked the hat. Wide brim to keep the sun off you. It is a bit pricey but the quality is there to last a long time. Not as stiff as I was expecting.

Lovely hat. I have a small head so limited with colours but through Amazon and Tilley was the only way to get the smallest size. Very impressed!
