Lookef for quite a while for a vintage looking compost crock that was cream to match my kitchen rather than the bright white that most of them are. I like the color and the lettering is very vintage looking. I've had it for about a month and has been pretty easy to clean and does not have a noticeable order unless you open it up. Even then, as long as there isn't a lot of wet stuff, it doesn't seem to spoil very quickly. Mostly you can smell the citrus rinds (a nice smell) that we've been adding to it and emptying every 3 or 4 days. This one is a pretty large capacity which is good if you cook a lot or have a bigger family and produce lots of fruit and vegetable peels. We only use this for things that are compostable in our home compost pile. We do not do industrial composting with a commercial trash company, so no meat or other animal products except eggshells. The only negatives with this one is that it does not have a bucket to line it. This may eventually cause some corrosion inside so I'm not sure how long this will last. Going to try to find a paint liner bucket that will fit.

This is everything I could have wanted in an indoor compost bin. It's attractive and matches our farmhouse kitchen decor. There is absolutely no odor, ever. We haven't had a problem with fruit flies, as some reviewers have mentioned. What I am most pleased with is the size. I didn't want to have to trek out to the compost bin every day, and we don't have to now because this indoor bin holds so much. Cleaning it was incredibly easy -- we just let it soak in hot soapy water and rinsed it out. It is well-built and I imagine will last us for many years.

This is an attractive countertop compost bin that is easy to clean, easy to transport vegetable scraps to an outside composter, and no unpleasant odors due to the included filters.

Love this bucket in an area that doesn't have as many flies as we have in the south. I used my mom's for 2 months in AK, loved it, and it spurred me to buy this one. I had doubts it would be fly-free in AR...and I was right. Don't advertise that it is fly-free if it isn't fly-free in every climate! Still, its easy to clean, and so far no rust....but I haven't had it long either. It was frustrating that it came dented but it also wasn't double boxed, so it was amazing it made it through the postal system with only 1 dent! It was where the lid set on the bucket, my husband was able to straighten it out enough to close tightly and I didn't want the hassle of sending it back and getting a worse dented product.Pros: easy to clean, reduces smells, looks great on the counter, holds a lot!Cons: lets fruit flies in, must be dumped daily to keep flies under control, came dentedI'm happy enough with my buy.

6 months update ############Overall a good product. Large enough to hold a couple of days compost, does not smell. Looks good in my kitchen.However, the print came off with grease. It doesn't bother me too much, but I'd like to post a comment that the seller may consider another printing shop.#########№#################Much better than I thought! Worth the money. I just got this and The bin looks great. However, the description is inaccurate. The 7 charcoal filters were not sent along with the bin.*****Update as of 1/7/2020****Based on my review comments, the seller got back to me and confirmed that the filters were missed in the process of shipping from amazon warehouse. They promptly sent me a replacement with the 7 filters as per the description. I really appreciate their efforts in working towards customer's satisfaction.I have been using the product for a few days now and it is really great! Thick steel construction, very nice paint and no seams along the bottom for grime to collect and rust to take hold. It's nicer than expected and the slightly larger than average size works perfect for our family! Very impressed.

The lid does not sit properly on the tin and doesn’t seal. The silver rim of the lid arrived dented as well. Very disappointing, I won’t be using it.
