Is the height adjustable in specific increments (every inch?) or infinitely? Also how do the columns lock together if at all?

Yes they can be adjust at what ever height you choose. They also have pin safety lock holes every 4 inches or so. The locking mechanism is a screw clamp gripping method. Very sturdy. Mine are on the stands 24 hrs a day 7 days a week. With 50 lbs to 60 lbs. No wobble or slipping. No issues what so ever.

will it work with klipsch rp-502s?

Let me just start off by saying; I'm not too familiar with the klipsch speakers but I did take a look at the specs. It seems there's a lot of angles with that speaker (won't be an exact fit). There's many variables to consider. The stand can support it but if it's going to be in a busy area (with children) like the living room, I wouldn't recommend it. What I would recommend though is to look for stands that has corresponding screw holes with that speaker and fasten them in place for peace of mind. Hope this helps!
