HartzDuraPlay Bacon Scented Dog Toys, Medium/Large for All Breed Sizes

I bought this toy for my 1 1/2 year old Dachshund-Rottweiler mix (rescue dog). She is not much of a chewer, and she actually didn't play with toys at all when she was living with her rescue mommy. But she has started enjoying playing with toys, so I bought this for her because it has multiple play features: It squeaks; it has the soft-ish plastic part in the middle; it has the rope ends, for another chewing texture; and with the rope at both ends, it makes a great toy for tug-of-war. My dog really loves this toy! One comment (not really a complaint for us, b/c of how great our dog is) is that the threads of the rope ends have come out already, and doggie has been playing with this for only about 5 days--and she's not a power chewer at all. We are lucky that she doesn't seem to swallow the pieces that she chews off her toys, but I know a lot of other dogs would. So we just make sure to pick up the couple random bright orange and bright green threads we find in the carpet (bright colors make them easy to spot!). This is definitely a fantastic toy for our dog, but considering the rope threads are coming out already, it might not be a great toy for younger dogs/dogs that eat everything they can get in their mouth.

This is my dog’s favorite toy. She got her first one as a gift and it lasted for over a year and a half before it finally got so gross that I searched online for a second one. I have a 100lb German Shepherd that usually destroys toys within a matter of an hour. The material is a super soft latex-like rubber so I wouldn’t normally think it would be durable for tough chewers like mine. But for some reason they’ve held up. Not sure if it’s more durable than it looks, or if my dog just loves this toy so much that she takes better care of it and doesn’t want to destroy them like her other toys. She doesn’t chew on it continuously in one sitting until the squeaker stops like most other toys. Instead she likes to bat it around a bit, pick it up and give it a few squeaks while carrying it around and then either tossing it around for herself or coming up wanting me to throw it for her. Not sure why this toy is different but she loves it SO much

My dog LOVES this toy. I totally didn’t realize the ball was a squeaky toy, my mistake because they aren’t too popular for the human members of the household but the dog loves them. I have never seen her so excited for a toy! I mostly got this because I thought she might actually hold the one loop, and I could play tug with the other loop, but she wants the ball in her mouth, which still gets her mouth further away from my hand than she usually does, so still a win in my book, lol! She’s currently running back and forth between me and my husband on other sides of the house every time she “wins” against one of us. Hopefully will last a while, she has a reputation for destroying toys though.

I have a 1 yr old yorkipoo and a 5 mo old mixed breed, they're both about 11lbs right now. They love to tug on toys, but unfortunately the ones I had wouldn't last long as the rope wasn't very durable. The string on my old one would start coming apart and I've even caught them trying to eat it! So this thing now, super durable! They love chewing on it and so far it has withstood the teeth of my little devils. Plus! Each one grabs one wring and they tug on it for hours.

We got a new lab puppy who loves to play. This toy is great for her - she loves to play tug of war, but she also likes to play with it by herself. The loves the squeaky noise it makes. It's a little big for her right now, but she likes that. I imagine when she is fully grown we'll have to get an extra large size! The price is very good. It seems well made and will bring her hours of enjoyment.

The squeaker was quickly destroyed but I've never met a squeaker that could stand up to my dog. But the rest of the toy is incredibly strong. It's my dogs favorite toy and she plays with it every day and forces us nearly non stop to play tug o war. She isn't very good at it, but she's strong enough to give it some really good jerks. The toy stands up to the test, and I would get her more of these!

I bought this for my 2lb dachshund puppy, but it’s about the size of him! He’ll nibble it but does prefer other toys. My 4 year old dachshund loves it though, she loves the squeak and smell! It’s very high quality and durable, however will not be durable for bigger dogs that are chewers and intense players. It’s made of pretty pliable, soft rubber, so big chewers may go through this quickly. Not to say I don’t recommend it, because I DO! It’s a great toy!

My dog entertains herself to exhaustion with this toy! It's a puppy pleaser and if the puppy is active and entertained then I can get my work done! We also play fetch with it- other duraplay toys she was able to choose the ends off and had to be thrown away but she loved them!!! I'm hoping this one being a ball with a rope that she won't be able to chew into it.

The media could not be loaded.  Best toy ever - they play like this everyday until one finally gets tired or takes it to their kennel. So far, has held up to the rough play - they like to take it outside with them also. I was looking for a toy that would engage them in play and this has proven to be perfect!3 month update: only toy still going strong with an aggressive chewer!

My dog loves this toy! It's been 3.5 weeks since we got it and none of the rope strands have come out yet. The ball stick squeaks and is intact. My dog is a cheer and is quite rough. Loves to fling the toy back and forth with her teeth. Will update if the toy breaks shortly after this review. :p

Seems to be holding up pretty well with my dog; better than some of the alternatives I've used. I think the bacon scent is likely unnecessary and is undetectable to the human nose, but it does not take away from the product at all. Has only been used a handful of times, so I'll be interested to see the longevity, but so far so good.

My dogs could tear this apart fairly easy, as they usually ruin their toys, but for some reason they haven’t yet, they do love this toy though!

This is a great toy for any dog who likes to play tug. It’s very durable even for big chewers, the design is great, and the price is very reasonable. The first one we purchased lasted a year and took a lot of abuse so we were happy to buy a second one.
