A smart, chunky, chronograph wrist watch.
I was sent this watch for testing and impartial review. This large faced chunky looking watch is clearly designed to appeal to the sporty type of person. Its solid appearance suggests it will take a lot of physical abuse and it is beautifully finished and oozes precision engineering. It has three main function buttons to the right of the face. The centre one allows the setting of day, date and main hand positions. Those on either side operate the chronograph features which are quite straightforward. The movement of the buttons is smooth and virtually silent. The running of the watch is also silent. An instruction manual clarifies the different settings which are really quite simple and intuitive. You might want to note that the large sweep second hand only works when the chronograph is started. If you want to use it for normal use, you should be aware this will probably burn up the battery reserve. Its starting position on my watch is 2 seconds out; a slight niggle. A small circular display at the base of the face indicates normal second passage. This watch has the largest face of any watch I own and all the displays are quite clear. It is fitted with the best leather strap I have seen on a watch and promises longevity. It is also very comfortable. I find I am inclined to wear the watch further up my wrist that any of my other watches due to the large operating buttons. This prevents them rubbing against my hand during normal wrist movement. The watch is also waterproof and comes with a lifetime guarantee. It also ships beautifully packaged in a most attractive, quality wooden box and would be a delightful gift for any man. It is years since I last owned an Ingersoll watch and have to admit I am impressed with this model. My personal preference would be to wear it as a dress watch rather than for sporting activities. It is competitively priced given the high standard of finish and guarantee, and I think it good value for money. I should add that it also keeps good time; gaining only a second every four days.

Deeply, deeply flawed
I'm reviewing the I03101, that's the automatic watch with Year, Month, 24 Hr Display, Day & Date.Fundamentally this is a dishonest product. The size and design is designed to appeal to Millennial men who want a 'statement', sporty watch. This has the appearance of a chronograph, until you realise the large pushers in reality adjust the year and month. It would be acceptable if this was an annual calendar, but the movement has no clue which months have 28, 30 or 31 days leaving the owner to adjust. I call in dishonest to make it look like a chrono but then deliver such a disappointing experience. Then again a true annual calendar would set you back £000s.I have no problems wearing a 41mm Speedmaster, but this 47mm behemoth is very much last years fashion for kitchen clock size watches.Other flawsThe mineral glass is easily scratched, compared to sapphireWithout a screw-down crown and the large pushers, I'd question the 100m water resistanceThe large hands and dial have every appearance of having a faux-patina lume - but there is no lume!No mention of power-reserve in the automatic movementIt's a personal thing, but I don't like the maker's name on the side of the caseThe 17mm height means it's never going to fit under a shirt cuff.On the plus sideThe strap is a good length, if you can get away with a 47mm watch the chances are the strap can still be done upThe transparent case back lets you see the automatic movement. The wooden presentation box is quite nice

Dead battery on arrival!
Lovely looking watch and greaat weight and feel. It is not food enough to arrive with a dead battery though.

This is a very good watch, wanted for ages, so good price.
I have no idea what sheerness means, I have looked it up and still no idea what it means. Except for a town on the island of Sheppey off the coast of Kent.

Fantastic gift... a watch that's a little bit different
I'll admit that Ingersoll is not really a watch brand I've been particularly bothered by... it's origins are American, it then went bankrupt, became British and Dutch (dependent on the region) and British and is now part of a British subsidiary of a Chinese company. I raise this only really to highlight there is no particular watch heritage here for me... the brand name is there but not much else, so this review is really looking at the watch on its own merits.I'll start with the box - it's wooden, it's big and it's bold. It's a bit like an old fashioned sliding wooden pencil case for putting big crayons in. Inside, there is an authenticity card (which is actually a great big lump of metal!), a small manual and a rather large, impressive looking watch.Obviously watches are a matter of personal preference but there's something I really like about this one. The strap is not quite as orange as it appears in the photo, but what stands out immediately is the size of it. It feels big, not overly ostentatious, but solid and well made - it's also very thick. The dial is very clear, the day display swings from top to bottom, and then after Sunday flips to the top again. The buttons on the side are big... perhaps it's the one area which doesn't feel as if it has quite the same quality as the rest. If I was being really picky... the date is slightly obscured by the square frame above it.You can of course spend an absolute fortune on a watch. Or you can perhaps build a collection of mid-price watches and decide on a day by day basis which one to wear. I like the latter option myself, and I really like this watch! It seems to keep time well, but I will update this review if that turns out not to be the case.

Orologio Ingersoll

Segnatempo stupendo. Acquisto consigliato.
Arrivato oggi e doveva arrivare ieri.

Bello
Molto molto bello! Massiccio, importante, sa mettersi in evidenza senza esagerazione. Meritava il vetro in cristallo zaffiro, e le lancette ed i numeri fluorescenti anche se ben leggibili anche con poca luce. Meccanica buona. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.
