Gootium Canvas Messenger Bag - Vintage Satchel Cross Body Shoulder Bag, Fit 15.6-Inch Laptop

Just unboxed and examined. Condition and color exactly as pictured. I don't think the pictures cover enough of the detail. Several things I like.First, the snaps on the front. The cover has two snaps, and the corresponding snaps on the body of the bag are on little loops of fabric so you can get your index finger behind the snap to close them between your thumb and forefinger (to snap them closed). This is much better than another snap bag I tried where you had to press against the content of the bag to get the snaps to close. I was afraid that I would break my laptop screen snapping the buttons. This one is much nicer.One of the front two pockets is zipper-closed. The other one is open, so I will not use that one very much because it looks like things would just fall out of it. There is another zippered enclosure on the front.Inside the zipped inner part of the bag there is a divider, a zipped pocket and pen loops.One commenter noted that there is a gap on both sides of the top zipper that things can fall out of. I find that in my case, this is not an issue. There enough zippered enclosures for me to put little things, and I have an little organizer bag that I put all of my cables and adapters in, so I just put this in the center portion along with my macbook pro 15 - inside a protective padded sleeve. Can fit a couple of textbooks as well.There is an outside pocket on the side that is not of much use since it is so small - maybe a pack of cigarettes or a deck of cards or something?Leather straps are as shown - will keep my eyes on those as they appear to be layer pressed leather product.Strap could be a couple of inches longer, but it's ok - I like to wear messenger bags quite low on the side.Looks like picture except is is much more wrinkled - looks like it got wet and somebody balled it up. It is already starting to relax though.The material is much softer than I expected - not course canvas, but feels like it has been washed a bunch of times and is cottoney soft.No padding on the interior compartment - be prepared to add your own for laptop.All in all, better than I expected - pleasantly surprised. Will update if reliability proves an issue.

The bag itself is well built and has a lot of pockets. Main zipper was hard to close and in need of some lube. Not too many loose strands for the amount of stitches.Where the bag fails completely for me is when I want to use it to carry my electronics or other valuables. It just doesn't close fully leaving huge 2" gaps on both sides welcoming rain, dust or peeks from the strangers. If you leave it flat on the seat you always run a risk to loose something.Not the extra worry I want to have in my life.P.S. after using it on a trip as a general/beach bag to staff extra closes in I'm upping the rating slightly. Still disappointed with the extra "ventilation", but it can be managed if you pack non-essentials into the big compartment and don't mind to shake some sand out of it later.

I'm totally addicted to bags. I have 5.11, Vanquest, Timbuk2, LL Bean, Direct Action and more. The quality of the bags from those companies is outstanding. I wanted something a little less tactical looking.This bag is certainly heavier than expected but I think that just gets chalked up to quality.The material is soft. The bag is not a structured bag, meaning its floppy, doesn't hold a particular shape but that's to be expected with a soft canvas bag.I'm surprised how much it holds and still feels relatively comfortable.What would earn this bag an extra star...1. Would love a side pouch for a water bottle.2. A grab handle of some sort on the top/rear of the bag.3. An adjustable pad on the strap.Add those things and we are looking at an almost perfect bag.I looked for one that had all of those things and it's not out there.P. S. I have no idea what the purpose is but there are three extra pieces of rectangle shaped fabric with two metal grommets in them. I have no idea what they're for, just thought I'd share.

This bag is great for someone looking to get away from the typical backpack. The storage and overall size of the bag is perfect for laptops, extra clothes and shoes when doing overnight travels and stays. Very durable bag that can take a beating!

This bag is fantastic for whatever your needs may be. My plans are for fishing, camping and other outdoors activities. Makes a great bag for carrying rock collecting tools, specimens, fishing tackle and lunch. It could be a good bag for electronic devices if they are stored in plastic or the bag is water proofed. It is well made bag of heavy canvas, if it gets wet it will take time to dry. The inner compartments are soft durable cotton and they provide many options for carrying delicate items as well. I am considering purchasing another bag because this is a great value and it suites my needs well, it carries better than a day pack with quicker access.

i've had this bag for 10 minutes and i'm already so obsessed with it. there are so many pockets and compartments, which is amazing. the size of the bag sounded a bit big, but in person, it doesn't feel too big. the bag feels very durable and sturdy, but it's also soft and moveable and comfy. it's the best of both worlds. if there was one thing i'd change, maybe make the strap a couple inches longer, but i could live without the two inches. it's still well worth keeping. can't wait to get compliments on it. :D

The canvas and the multiple pockets on this bag are goodThe style is good as is the design for carrying it, with a great shoulder strapI would have liked a top zipper to go all the way to the ends of the bag though without an overhang of a loose zipper on one endThere is a gap of about 2 to 3 inches at each end, where the bag is open within no closureI can put some fasteners here but maybe the bag could be redesigned to bring the Zipper to the very ends of the bag
