prAna Men's Stretch Zion Short

This is my 4th pair of Prana Zion Stretch. Two pairs of pants and two shorts. I got them both for casual wear and event wear with GORUCK. I got these shorts on Thursday and did an overnight 12hr event that involved low crawls through the grass at 3am, calisthenics on concrete and in grass, lots of squatting movements, and being soaked in sweat throughout. Pictures shown are post-event after one wash. Not a scrape, scuff, tear or anything. Good enough that I'm wearing to church this morning. COULD NOT ask for a better short! Pants are the same. Also, I love the left pocket that has a zipper that opens to inside and top side. That actually comes in very handy, depending on what you're doing.

These are the best shorts, or at least the older style/fit were. It seems like for some reason, they changed the fit of these shorts. I am universally a size 36 waist, and the size 36 short went from fitting perfect to WAY too tight with the style change, not to mention the thinner/tighter thighs (I am not a skinny jeans/shorts guy). I have been buying and ultimately returning these shorts with the newer styling all spring from different sellers trying to find the older style that fits me so well and are bombproof. I finally bought from the shoe seller that starts with a Z on here and they were the old styling, so I bought 4 pairs while I could get them. I don't know why they changed the fit of these great shorts but I hope they switch back to the old styling.

I must have bought around 20 pairs of Stretch Zion pants and shorts over the 10 years I've been wearing them. Whenever there's a new color I like that I don't already have, I buy it. The pants fit great, are super comfortable in any situation, and look more stylish than cargo shorts ought to. One quibble. The fabric has changed over the last 10 years. My oldest pairs show no wear at all. The newer pairs show wear relatively quickly, with the material on the legs getting fuzzy after a relatively short time. The new fabric is probably more comfortable, but much less durable. I wish Prana would get on that issue. But the shorts are still great.

These are my favorite shorts. I own shorts from The North Face, Mountain Hardwear, ExOfficio and Dockers. The Prana Zion shorts stretch when I need them to. They have small vent holes in crotch for comfort. The pockets are deep enough to be useful and the built-in belt has no equal. There are also belt loops if you want to wear a belt to carry additional equipment (radio, cell phone, flashlight etc). They are made with synthetic material so they wash easily and dry fast- no wrinkles. They are lightweight and pack well.These shorts are as close to perfection as you can get. You can go rock climbing or fishing in them, or wear them to the company picnic.I purchased the 10" length because the 12" length rubs on my knee caps which I find annoying. There are 5 pockets. two front, two rear (one secured with flap) and one on the left leg that is secured.There are much cheaper shorts in this category, but none are as versatile and comfortable as the Prana Zion.

Spouse - recently diagnosed with diabetes - went on a diet and gave up everything "white" (white bread, sugar, white rice, pasta...). From Christmas to May, he lost 50 pounds - but his shorts no longer fit and everything looked terrible. I had heard of PrAna and knew it was a good brand; however, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Amazon carried their items. Spouse was in-between sizes normally carried in brick & mortar stores (not a 34, but not a 36) so I ordered a 35" waist and they are a perfect fit. These shorts are made of an amazing fabric that doesn't wrinkle, looks so nice and washes like a dream. No pilling of the fabric - just wash, toss in the dryer on low heat and put them on. Amazon's price was better than what I could find on the PrAna website, which makes this item a win-win for us!

The shorts I just received have a 10" inseam length. I mention this because in the answered questions another customer's shorts had a 12" inseam. In the item description the only mention of length is "slightly above the knee". prAna makes both a 10" and 12" version but currently Amazon is only carrying the shorter length. Also, I purchased the size 35" waist which for me is too large. I'm 5'10" 175 lbs and my gut measures 37". An excellent pair of lightweight shorts. They are very comfortable and are terrific in hot weather. I wore these exclusively on a recent trip overseas, and I was quite comfortable on some very hot days.After some deliberation, I decided to get these with the longer inseam, and I'm glad I did. They gave me the coverage I wanted, and thankfully the seams didn't chafe the backs of my knees like I feared.I have only a few minor caveats. I wish the shorts were designed more symmetrically. It would have been nice to have cargo pockets on both thighs, not just one. One back pocket has an open top and the other has a flap-over enclosure. Although I liked the easy entry of the open-top pocket, I'd actually prefer having both rear pockets with flap-over tops.The adjustable waist tab is useful, although my preference is to use a belt, as the front tends to get saggy and sloppy after an active day.These are now my go-to summer shorts, and all my shabby cargo shorts are now retired for good.

First heard about and read about these shorts on the Amazon reviews so I decided to look them up on YouTube. The reviews of these prAna shorts on YouTube made me finally purchase and try them out. I was extremely pleased on the quality, feel, look and weight of these shorts that I bought another. And will be buying a few more. Yes they are a bit pricey for a pair of shorts but I promise you won't be disappointed and are worth it. I'm 6'0ft, 215lbs size 36 waist and the size 36 fit perfectly.

Fast delivery on prime. I will be using these shorts for hiking next spring and vacationing in South East Asia.. Fits true to size. Size 33 is one size up from my usual size jeans. It's nice to have the adjustable waist band strap. Will buy more if this one performs well.

Best shorts...Period! I just wore out my first 3 pairs...after probably 7-8 years, and only the stretchy ness started to go, no tears. They are worn daily. I’ve had crashes on my bicycle with them and only minor scuffs.

Bought these for my hubby and they are his favs. Super comfortableAnd stretchy and great quality!
