Perfect Kitchen Drawer Hammer
This is the perfect size hammer to have on hand for small jobs around the house; tacking down molding, hanging pictures, mirrors, driving plastic wall anchors into holes, etc. The quality is typical Estwing (fantastic) and it’s made in the USA. The stacked leather washer handle is the icing on the cake; so classy and functional. Picture shows size in relation to a 20oz Estwing. Heirloom quality tool.

Awesome shop hammer (12oz version)
Very high quality hammer. Has a really good balance in the hand. The 12oz version is perfect as a general purpose shop and household hammer.

Fantastic hammer, Made in USA
Very sturdy and comfortable to use. Works well, looks great, and weight is just right. My only problem is that others on the site want to keep borrowing it. I told them to go buy their own! I now own one of each size/weight class to go as a set. Good product made in the USA. Buy one and you will be satisfied (they do have different claw choices if rip claw is not to your liking, so check the seller for more options).

Worth it.
Good hammer. Did what hammers do very well. Better than some walmart brand hammer that's a knuckle buster. A little on the lighter side. Good basic no frills design. Easy use lol.

The best hammers, period.
It's the best hammer you can buy. Estwing is the standard for quality hammers, they only reason you'll ever buy a second one is because your dad bought a new one and you get jealous of how shiny it is. ;-)

Those Cool Stripes...
Like everyone says, this is a 5 star tool. However, I did have one problem with the first one I purchased in 1980 from Brookstone "Hard to Find Tools." That was a curved claw. I was only 17 and this was my first step on the journey of tool addiction... Anyway, if you look carefully at the handle, there are six plastic rings that make those cool black and white stripes on the otherwise, all leather handle. The head and handle are integral. The handle is made from leather ovals placed around the solid piece of metal that forms the head and continues to end of the handle. Sometime in the mid 90's, a couple of these plastic rings in the handle deteriorated, broke in half and fell out. This left the rest of the leather rings loose and floppy. I continued to use the hammer daily and a couple times got blood blisters on my palm where it pinched in between the remaining loose rings. I finally took a ball-peen hammer and rounded off the two rivet-looking metal pins on the end of the handle. These pins are actually shaped from the same piece of metal that forms the head on the other end of the hammer. This tightened up the remaining leather and the hammer has been perfectly useful, minus some of the cool stripes, ever since. Maybe the plastic used in the handle of today's Estwing hammers is better quality than they used back in the 70s. I've had no problem with the handle of the straight claw Estwing I purchased in 2007. Here is something to remember about this hammer: it is too nice to loan out. Do not make the mistake of letting your brother borrow this tool or you may never see it again. Well at least that will give you an excuse to buy a new one (from Amazon naturally).

Almost good hammer
Hammer is made entirely of one piece of metal, so there will be no loose hammer head flying after extensive use. That said the handle bar closest to the hammer head is shaped perpendicular and flat. that makes it harder to grasp if you want to just lightly tap an object with the hammer. Other than that the hammer is well made and should last a long time.

It’s a shirt hammer at 280mm or the length of an A4 page, shopping time was reasonable. I find the weight perfect for what I intend to do as a plumber - nailing down clamps and support buttons. It should fit perfect in trapdoors and confined spaces due to its shortness and yet still have the weight to drive a steel nail through floor joists. I think the weight will be perfect to prevent to much demand on my aging joints. All up for 50 au dollars I think we’ll have a long history together on finishing and plumbing work.
