Anchorwoman In Distress
THE SEDUCTION was an awesome suspenseful flick that made Morgan Fairchild a star along with the fact that it had some twists & turns in it, since it had some interesting drama to it that left you jumping & guessing at times and made you feel pity for L.A. news anchorwoman Jamie Douglas(Morgan Fairchild)even though you couldn't help admiring all the graphic nude scenes of Morgan at the same time, especially since they showed Morgan's Womanhood with a lot of graphic nudity, not to mention skinny-dipping or even being a lady sleeping in the nude alone is never a smart idea or a wise thing to do even at your own house, since swimming buck-naked and being a female sleeping naked usually contributes to nothing but trouble and spying, not to mention this was Morgan's biggest skinteresting flick of all times in her entire showbiz career. In addition to that, it was such a shame that Jamie's boyfriend Brandon(Michael Sarrazin)or the police could protect her from the obsessed perverted sexual predator Derek Sanford(Andrew Stevens)or that Jamie couldn't even get a restraining order against her stalker either.Even though I was glad to see Derek finally get killed off at the conclusion of the movie, it was kind of sad at the same time without a happy ending since a lot of people got hurt and/or even killed in the process throughout Jamie's whole ordeal with Derek. What I don't understand is, Jamie was a rich anchorwoman who had everything, including a snazzy car, a nice and well-respected job, a luxurious lifestyle, a swanky house, except protection and privacy, but I find it kind of bizarre why she didn't at least have a private security guard or something with as much danger and harrasment she was getting from her spy.Something else I found to be quite baffling was why Derek was so insistent about wanting Jamie for his girlfriend without at least even giving other cute chicks a chance to go out with him, especially when there were obviously numerous cute gals throwing themselves at Derek who thought he was drop-dead gorgeous and how Derek still didn't learn after Jamie's boyfriend(Brandon)beat the crap out of Derek by beating him to a pulp, but I guess that was the purpose of this movie in order to keep the suspense going to keep people interested in the movie the whole time along with the fact that things aren't always so practical nor make a lot of sense in the movies. This movie also takes me all the way back to memory lane to when we had the recession going on back in 1981-1982 when Ronald Reagan was the president along with the fact that I was 9 years old in the 3rd grade at Rockwood Elementary School in Calexico, CA when this movie was released in the theatres back in the Winter of 1982 when I was still living in my hometown(El Centro, CA) being raised in the Imperial Valley.

High-gloss Sleaze! Hot and heavy (breathing) phone action!
Shout! Factory Blu-ray.Subtitles, extras, sound and picture vast improvement over DVD.Another Phone-Creep Classic - seemed to be a sort of subgenre in the late 70s/early 80s.Although, no one would consider this early 80s thriller a classic, it does have some interesting and glossy, qualities to it. The great Andrew (Ten to Midnight) Stevens’ character is fairly well drawn for a popcorn thriller and eerily close to the kind of obsessive fan media folks have had to accustom themselves to. In fact, The Seduction’s voyeuristic theme still holds a candle about the warped ability to turn one’s fantasies into a dangerous reality when it comes to our media darlings.Without a doubt, The Seduction is still an exploitation film, although it’s quite mild by today’s standards. After such notorious Hollywood thrillers as Basic Instinct made smaller films seem almost quaint by comparison, it’s kind of nice to see such innocence in Fairchild’s nude scenes. She’s good here, and looks lovely too but she’s a far cry away from her earlier, bitchier performances in such excellent TV fare as The Initiation of Sarah and Flamingo Road. But once she grabs that shotgun, Fairchild really kicks into gear. Fans of blondes with guns blazing and lovers of all things 80s will not be disappointed in The Seduction. And you gotta dig the The Solid Gold-era theme song by Dionne Warwick.Directed by David Schmoeller, best known for Tourist Trap, another great Grindhouse Classic.

I've always loved this movie!!
Yes... I've always loved this movie, despite it's flaws, and have no problem at all admitting it lol!! I was 11 when it was released and saw it more than once at the theater. Fell in love with Andrew Stevens of course, and wondered why on earth was this gorgeous guy acting so weird and why this beautiful Morgan Fairchild character was rejecting him for that horrid looking boyfriend of hers lol. I watched this movie a hundred times on the premium channels. Every time it was on, I watched it. Watching it now, I can see all the plot holes and how the director made MF do all of those dumb expressions into the camera. It wasn't that she couldn't act, it's that the director directed her performance. Most of the time her acting was fine, until the stupid 'ok, now look sacred' moments. I thought everybody's acting was fine. And I don't know what some of these other reviewers are talking about when they mention all the so-called nudity in the movie. They make it sound like MF was naked for the entire movie!! No, there were very tasteful quick flashes of her nude here and there. Nothing graphic at all. And looking at it now, I don't think that Michael Sarrazin is all that bad looking. But back then, oh he was god awful ugly compared to Andrew Stevens. But tastes and opinions do change over the course of 32 years. And I do see how outrageous the hot tube murder scene and Jamie's unrealistic reaction to it was. Yeah, its a 'gimmie a break' moment, and the cop not mentioning to them that Derreck is Jamie's neighbor are glaring potholes, but I still adore this movie regardless and am glad to have it in my movie collection.

Morgan Fairchild
Morgan Fairchild in her big screen debut, with Andrew Stevens who I liked in other movies, for example The Fury with Kirk Douglas, which is a great movie. I liked him in films so I did take a chance on this film, and I would say it was a good movie! This may of set the tone for other seductive movies like fatal attraction, basic instinct.

Very under-rated !
A fairly suspenseful, well written and well acted film. If you like steamy, sexy thrillers, The Seduction is for you. It`s very `80`s, which isn`t a bad thing, and if you enjoy films where ``the hunted becomes the hunter``, this is the one. Lastly, if the movie dissapoints (which it won`t), let me leave you with these words...Morgan...Fairchild...nude. A wonderful actress / Goddess in the buff, always a good thing.

Morgan fairchild plays a beautiful newscaster who becomes the obsession of a deranged stalker/fan who wont take no for an answer! One of my favourite b movie thriller from the 80's,i just love everything about this movie & the cast are excellent- Morgan fairchild (in the best role ive seen her in) as the terrorised newscaster Jamie,Michael sarrazin as her concerned love interest & Andrew stevens who steals the show with his captivating performance as the stalker! If you appreciate cheesy thrillers then you will love this one!!

A taut, psychological thriller.
A good thriller, eighties style. It cashed in on the popularity of Morgan Fairchild at that time.

The Seduction
Early '80's tv blonde bombshell Morgan Fairchild made her bid for big screen stardom playing a news anchorwoman who finds herself the object of obsession from the man who lives nearby.Avoid like the plague. The dvd transfer is in pretty bad shape. It's fullscreen, dark, muddy and just looks grotty. If you must see this film, get the Region 1 release. It's widescreen and looks fantastic. The film itself, plays like a TVM with added skin. It's not a great film by any stretch of the imagination with lackluster performances and uneven pacing.
