Quirky, surprising and fun
I stumbled on this book and was not expecting much but I was very pleasantly surprised. The quirky characters drew me in and the story is very original, with a lot of bizarre twists and is simply a lot of fun. Highly recommended, looking forward to reading the sequel, What Carlos Knew.

This is a funny book, a real pleasure to read.
Teenager Wendell's in love with Samantha, and to prove his love, he needs to arrange a traditional Native American funeral for her massive pig, who died in a collision with a golf cart. It's a rollicking adventure, with lots of surprises and lots of funny characters. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Delightful. It had me at the pig.
Fun read. Reminded me of Y.A. high spirited, singular voice, adventure books when aas a kid. Captures voice of teen well. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fun. And a wonderful picture of Southwest Florida
Hardy Boys or Nancy Drew version of Carl Hiaasen or Tom Dorsey. Funny, authentic.

A Youg Adult Book that is Great Reading for All Ages
Despite this book having been written for young adults, I cannot remember enjoying a book more. The ability of the author to get inside young Wendell's head, creates a narrative that is both touching and hilarious. I found myself being transported back decades to youthful escapades that, while not rising to burying a 350 lb frozen pig, stemmed from some of the same youthful urges. The characters are real for the locale the story takes place in and are believable even in an unbelievable story. I highly recommend this for entertainment and an interesting story. I hope that the author keeps after this. The book is going to my grand kids and I expect they will enjoy it as much as I did. Now, on to figure out "What Carlos Knew". I can hardly wait.
