Excellent clarity and low light performance
Excellent optics. 200 meters I can see 223 holes on white paper. Works very well in low light condition. Lenses must be of high quality and have very good AR coating. This is the only way for the device to work this well. I have been using various optical devices over years and this one is impressive. Good job Vortex.

Great monocular. Great company.
I purchased this item in February 2021. I carry this when I hike or travel on my motorcycle. I use it mainly to observe wildlife. I like that it is light weight and that I can see clearly thru it. It has survived in temperatures between a little below zero to above 120 degrees. I keep it in the carrying case unless I take it out to use it. Three weeks ago I could not get it to focus. I got onto Amazon to order another and discovered it has a lifetime warranty. So went to Vortex website and contacted them about what happened. I received an email the next day with instructions and a label to send it in for repair or replacement. A new monocular arrived yesterday. I have purchased four Vortex rifle scopes, one Vortex binocular, and this monocular over the last five years. I am very pleased with the quality of their product. I had no idea there was a lifetime warranty with their products. Vortex is a great company and they produce a great product for my needs. I will definitely purchase more from this company.

Packable little piece of equippment, and it's a fraction of the weight of my Swift 7x50 Bino's.
Not a bird watcher, but rather a infantryman veteran that wanted something compact and easy to pack that's high quality. I'm not doing bounding overwatch, but handling it seems rugged enough for my purpose. It's really easy to use and even though some had trouble adjusting the focus one handed, I had no trouble at all. The image quality is pretty good, and it's quite powerful for it's size and weight. I haven't tried it in low light situations yet, but so far I really like it. I do wish it had some lense and eye cup covers, but that's my only gripe so far.

Nice monocular but not a great monocular
Bought this to carry on short day trips where I did not want a pair of binoculars. The pros are it's small and light and does not take up a lot of room in your pack. It's a little hard to find objects initially but once you get them you're good to go. The cons are it doesn't have lens caps, light gathering ability is a little weak and you have to focus well if you don't want a blurry view. The lanyard is junk and you will want to replace it immediately. I highly recommend using a lanyard and just remove the pocket/belt clip or it will be lost. I tried this on birds and it's alright but it's not great. Larger animals were a bit better but it's subjective. Stationary objects were better choices to view. I tried looking at the moon and that was a disappointment, even in focus it was difficult to make out structures. I was able to find the Orion Nebula and the Pleiades cluster so kudos on that. I tried looking at Jupiter but you can't hold it still enough but it wasn't made for that kind of activity either. Overall, a nice little monocular but a set of lens caps would be an improvement. The pocket clip needs to go and a better lanyard would improve things. While I bought mine on sale, after working with it for a week, I'm glad I didn't pay more. Buy it on sale if you want one one.

Affordable Quality
. Anyone familiar with optics knows there is no getting around cheap glass. Spotting scopes under $300 are pretty much useless. Astronomy scopes under $500 will bring you limited satisfaction. That being said, this little monocular is a handy piece of optics in lieu of binocs or a larger scope. It would either be something to keep in your vehicle or if outdoors, have attached to your pack for a quick look at something. I'm glad I got the x36 rather than the x25 as it gives you a lot of light, clarity, and field of view. And you just can't beat the price; it's quite remarkable1

Love this handy compact optic
Used for wildlife/bird watching. Better than binoculars? Nah. But it's a nifty scope in a small package that you can take with you everywhere. The build quailty is excellent and Vortex service and warranty are the gold standard. American made. Really appreciate the light weight and compact size. The focus ring takes a little practice. A great tool for those looking for a handy optic that is less cumbersome than binoculars. Seeing more birds because it's small and easy to have on hand whenever I'm outside.

I've had two other monoculars in the past, I have a terrible habit of loosing them. The earliest one I had was less powerful but I forget the make/model. My last one was a "visionary" which had a very clever close range function for looking at insects and flora etc, it had the same stats for distance 10x but I think the field of vision was smaller than this. With this one the field of vision feels a lot larger even though I believe it's only 1 more than the visionary it somehow feels a lot bigger, brighter and crisper image. The monoculars structure is very satisfying because it feels very durable and textured, feeling like a sturdy piece of kit but is also very light. The pouch you get with it isn't the neoprene sock thing that you see in some of the you tube "unboxing" it is however a soft Velcro pouch like you'd normal get for a camera etc. A twist out eye relief which I find very useful because otherwise all I could see would be my own eyelashes on the lense. I recommend this monocular.

The clarity and distance focus for this inexpensive monoscope is beyond that expected of even pieces in higher price range. Can view road signs claerly up to 1.5km away
