Works Perfectly!
This bar and chain work perfectly! I spent yesterday cutting up live oak logs from fallen during Tropical Storm Eta and had no issues. Sharpened chain 3 times total (live oak is rough on ANY chain). For some of the folks having issues with "chain coming off", simply adjust your tensioner properly and you'll be just fine. Chains gotta be tight, but not to tight. Great Product!

Good beater saw solution
I have used this for clearing land. The pros, sharpening is in fact quicker than sharpening by hand. The chain doesn't seem to be prone to cutting left or right. The cons, the cutting speed is slower than a semi or full chisel chain. Also, it is a specialty chain.Overall, this saves me time because I can stick it in the rocks and literally less than a minute later I'm back to cutting.

Chainsaw bar and chain
My husband loves this! He especially likes the fact that it has a blade sharpener. Works very well and comes in handy when he’s working.

Fast and Easy to use!!!
I bought this for my Stihl MS171 earlier this year. I loved it so much that I bought everyone in my family that has the same saw one for Christmas, whether I normally buy them Christmas presents or not. The only downfall for this product is that I wish they made one for the larger Stihl chainsaws. I have the MS271 with 18" bar and MS311 with 20" bar, but I prefer to do most of the work when possible with my little 16" because it is so much easier to sharper the blade when I accidently hit dirt or a rock.

Chain coming off repeatedly to the point where it's unusable.
I purchased this product about a month and a half ago, and have used it over 2 or 3 sessions. My last time, I had the chain come off multiple times(5 or 6), before I just put it back in the truck. I tried various tension settings with no success. I have a call in to Oregon's support, and will update if this becomes a success. At this point, I'd say avoid or hold off on purchase. I can't judge on how well the sharpener works because I spent more time adjusting chain tension and putting the chain back on, rather than using it to the point it started to get dull. Maybe me, or maybe the bar design, but my chainsaw experience is cutting about 5 cords a year and clearing small trees on a rural property, so I'm pretty sure this sudden change isn't representative of not understanding how to put a bar and chain on and tension them appropriately.

The sharpener works great, but the chain soon lost several teeth
The sharpener works great, but the chain soon lost several teeth. Trying to buy a new chain thru Amazon, says it cannon be shipped to our address. The whole kit was so what's the problem?

More cutting less sharpening
Like a bunch of folks, I spent more time sharpening chains that using saw. Bought the starter kit (Bar, Chain& sharpener) and have loved it. Actually, bought a replacement chain and remembered to write this review. The tooth design is different than regular chains, hence the type of sharpener provided. I can't imagine how the system doesn't work. Its a bar, a chain and a sharpening stone. Perhaps folks try to buy a chain without the bar?Since installing the system, I have done lots more easier productive effective cutting, than with any other chain.I would say just lightly lightly use the sharpener.I am a HAPPY REPEAT customer who recommends the product for folks who need to use a saw not practice sharpening chains.
