I would say so. I have an "Arca Swiss Compatible" plate from a Peak Design Capture Clip on my D90 and it fits fine.

Will this accept standard ARCA plates for other manufacturers?

Yes it does with no problem. I even have an aftermarket L-bracket that works just fine Thank You

What is the size of the bottom screw insert? (Can this be mounted on a 1/4 inch?)

The screw insert is 3/8", but adapter inserts for 1/4" thread tripods are readily available (search Amazon for 3/8" to 1/4" adapter Tripod). I used one of these to mount to a Sunpak 7500TM tripod, works great.

Is there a way to get the quick release plate alone? I lost mine.

Any arca-swiss compatible plate should work. The Desmond DP-50 (available on Amazon(a.k.a Desmond P-50)) fits. It's slightly narrower, but is still within the range of the clamp.
