Great for SINGLE time use; or to keep frozen and re-use.
Giving the Thermafreeze Reusable Ice Pack Sheets 3 stars because:1) They work fabulously well the FIRST time they are used. We used them to wrap around things in suitcases that had to stay cold for an airplane flight; and also used them when moving cross-country on a two-day trek. They kept things cold without issue.2) They are NOT reusable. After they thaw, they are slimy, gooey, messy sheets that have to be tossed. If you keep them frozen (and have the space to do so) they can be used time and time again. But once you let them thaw, they will leak the gooey slime that is inside the cells. Washing them and letting them dry in the sun will eliminate this goop, but then the cells will be empty and not re-fill/re-freeze again. So purchase them with the expectation of using them ONCE, or keeping frozen. The benefit is that you can cut them as small or large as you need -- save the rest of the package for the next time. :)

Gross. Leaky. Not Durable.
Between camping and boating, we have tried so many methods and items for getting cold stuff to and from boat or campsite. These ice sheets are some of the worst we have bought. First, kinda a pain to go through so many steps to get the sheet to freeze. Soak! Dry COMPLETELY! Freeze for HOURS! Meh. Then, when you fold it, and it begins to thaw, it will stick to itself and you get fuzzy mess. Same if you lay a couple sheets on top of each other. The worst is the gross oozy slime that leaks from first use. Makes a mess of cooler, freezer and items you are trying to keep cold. They went to trash after 2 disasterous uses.Just don’t buy these.Simply use plastic water bottles and freeze them or for space saving, fill a durable freezer bag with water, lay flat in freezer and reuse as often as needed.

These are really neat!
Basically, you get 5 large sheets flat-packed. They have plastic on one side and a semi-permeable mesh on the other. In the middle are pockets with a few little clear beads. You can cut the sheets into any size you want. Then you soak the thing in water, and over the course of about ten minutes the tiny clear beads, like tapioca, will absorb the water and make the squares into squishy gel pillows that are about 3/4 inch thick at their widest point. Then you freeze them, and presto - you've got flexible ice packs! I have found that there is more immediate flexibility right out of the freezer if you cut the pack into a line of pillows, rather than making a grid out of them. Also, be aware that the ice packs do sweat somewhat, because there is still that semi-permeable mesh on one side. The gel does not leak out, but there is some moisture.Because these sheets are flat-packed, and they are only activated when you add water, you can make yourself brand new ice packs any time you want!

The perfect purchase!
This is a great product. Little pillows of cold in a convenient, relatively thin, flexible sheet. It has started getting hot in AZ and at night, while having the AC on is not necessary, at times the bed gets too warm. Usually I would wake up; sweaty and uncomfortable. I put a couple of these frozen ice pack sheets a bit off center under the top sheet, and if I get too hot I just roll over near or onto them and they cool me right off. Perfect! By the morning they are thawed/warm, but they do not leak or cause any other mess. They go back into the freezer and are ready by the next night. They can be halved or rolled....lots of versatility.

Go with cooler shocks
I wanted something a little smaller than out cooler shocks from 2016. I like that I could cut this in half or smaller. I used this item for one day, in winter, in an insulated soft sided bag left in the car (25F outside) and it didn’t last 12 hours. Insult to injury, the underside is absorbent and picked up some beer juice from left over cans. I just bought the newer smaller cooler shocks because those last for days and are washable.

These are great as long as they don't get too soaked with water, then they expand too much and burst open, leaking the contents. DON"T LEAVE THEM SOAKING IN WATER! First, I cut the number of squares that I want to use before wetting them. Then I hold them under the faucet while rubbing each square until it puffs up to a nice full pillow without being too firm. Afterwards, I put them into a zip lock bag and place them in the freezer. It takes about 2 hours to freeze solid in the deep freeze. I wrap them in one layer of t-shirt fabric scaps, tie it around my neck and it works great for 1-2 hours depending on the heat outside. Once done, I just put them back in the zip lock and into the deep freeze. I even keep them wrapped up in the t-shirt fabric inside the freezer so I don't have to re-wrap them LOL ;) Stay cool and have fun!

I was not sure what to expect with these but for the low price and the size I really wanted to try. I have alot of joint issues/inflammation, and we were moving so my back was sore constantly and those little ice packs just dont cover much ground. When I got these they looked strange and I assumed I was going to be disappointed. It comes and they look like you would use them once and probably toss it, but is not the case. You got it wet and let the cells expand then freeze and so far I have been refreezing the same one several times with no problems. It covers huge area of my back, i love it, I would definitely recommend these to someone who has same issues as myself. You can't beat the price. Your standard icepack is much smaller at Walgreens and cost much more.

Nice, convenient but refreeze or will be a gooey mess
These worked well on our trip to the beach. Unfortunately they thawed too much on our way home and became a gooey mess like others have reported. I was not successful in cleaning them off to the point that they could be used again. They stuck together in a clump. We reused them the week at the beach as they stayed cool enough to be refrozen. I may actually buy these again because they were convenient, lightweight and I liked not having a bunch of ice water ti dump out of my backpack cooler. Now I know I need to get them back into the freezer after using.

Ok, as long as they don't thaw out completely
Great for one use or will last longer as long as you don't let them thaw out completely. Once thawed, the gel stuff starts coming out. Although once frozen again they're fine, every time they thaw, the gel gets slime on everything. The covering is also very thin and splits easily which means even more of the gel escaping. Would be better if they came pre soaked and properly sealed, like the ice packs you get for sports injuries. I wouldn't recommend these for cool boxes where they're going to thaw completely but for short use they'd be fine.

Maybe not their intended function .....
I ordered these to make a cool sleeping mat for my cat. This was in the hot ,very hot weather. It hasn't been hot enough since then to use it. I fully intend to use those remaining for medical purposes. Excellent service
