After several days of heavy rain I started to notice a musty smell coming from under my bed & realized that my bedroom is above a dirt cellar so I tried putting baking soda (X2 boxes) under my bed & my dresser next to my bed (X1 box) but the smell continued to get worse to the point I couldn’t sleep in my bedroom anymore.I ordered damp rid not knowing whether or not it would do anything I but the price was right & I had no idea what else to do.The day it came I put it under my bed & after about X3 days I started noticing a difference in how strong the odor was so I checked the container under my bed & I was really surprised to see there was already close to an inch of water pooled in the bottom of it.Since then I’ve continued to replace them in my bedroom & subsequently in my bathroom that would always smell like dirt whenever it was damp outside.100% satisfied w/the product & the price.I would also like to add that the linen scent (which is what I’ve been using since my first purchase) DOES have a relatively strong smell initially, but becomes very faint w/in about 24 hours, I have some VERY serious sensory issues, one of them being my sense of smell. The scent of the linen has NEVER bothered me bc it is what I consider a “clean” smell, not “flowery” or vanilla scent but that’s just my own experience.I would also like to add that my fur baby has NEVER had any type of a reaction to the damp rid, she has come in contact w/both the absorbing crystals as well as the water that has collected @ the bottom of the container. I’m not suggesting that it COULD’NT be hazardous to children or pets, I’m just (again) speaking from my own experience.

This is much too small to be effective, maybe for a very small closet only.

I have been a Damp Rid fan for some time now. If you want to eliminate excess moisture in the bathroom then Damp Rid is the solution. Got mildew or musty smells on your clothes in the closet. Then use Damp Rid to solve it. I hung one up in my closet a couple days ago and already it has started to fill the bag up with moisture it captured. I use it near and around my Computer and electronics. You can use it in any room of your choice. If humidity is present then Damp Rid is a must have product.
