There are good and bad issues with this heater.
This is my second such Comfort Glow Milkhouse heater. I'm not replacing the first, it's still operating. I just wanted a backup unit. As with the first, there are problems that require work. The four soft plastic feet on the heater I received are asymmetric, and therefore the heater wobbled when placed on the floor. I had to shave three of the feet to equalize them. Here are the original heights: 10.12 mm, 10.06mm, 9.5mm, 10.0mm.Many of the other critical comments referred to the fan and/or a rattling noise inside. The fan in this heater is pressed onto a stainless steel shaft. The connection is not absolute, it's only a press fit. When the heater reaches a certain temperature, the fan's plastic grommet—that presses onto the steel shaft—becomes hot and soft enough to force the fan backwards (retreating from the direction of air flow) into the heating coils. This causes a clacking noise from the fan striking the coils, and the fan ultimate stops revolving.I corrected this on the first unit by drilling a 1.5mm hole through the fan coupling and driving a small sheetmetal screw through the hole to press tightly against the steel shaft. I've done the same to my newly-purchased model as prophylaxis against future failure.Of course, this invalidates the warranty, but I can live with that.Other than the fan issue, this is a swell heater. Warms up quickly and puts out a lot of heat.

Some good; some not so much...
The heater arrived neatly packaged in apparent good condition. I unpacked it and found the manual and read the operating instructions before I plugged it in. Then I turned it on to its lowest setting which does not energize the heating coils, it just runs the fan. I was startled by a loud clanging from inside the unit. Hmm...that can’t be right. I turned it off and unplugged it.The manual is well written and tells how to return the device for warranty. Oh well, the thing is inexpensive. So I opened it up, dismantled it and spent an enjoyable half hour reassembling it. I exercised the care which should have been taken at the factory, but clearly was not. It appeared that the lightly built bracket that mounts the motor had been mishandled and bent. So when those components had been assembled the fan rubbed the heating coils. If I had set the switch to one of the heat settings my initial experience would have been colorful with sparks as well as noisy. Well, let’s see: The appliance is well designed, albeit lightly constructed, but, again, it is inexpensive. And it has nice features: If you knock it over it turns itself off, it has two heat settings as well as fan only, and it does deliver heat enough to warm a room. So I give it three out of five, that is sixty percent, a solid “D”...

Even on high, it isn’t effective as other milk house heaters, have to be close to it
Not strong enough heat

Great heater, but terrible knob
Best milkhouse heater l own. Powerful and quiet.But.... The round knob is the dumbest aspect!!!!I had to swap a knob from another heater and replace the door round knob.Classic example of someone making a design change without understanding the consequence.Small round knobs might look pretty, but they are terrible for turning a stiff switch!!The round knob is my only complaint, but it's a BIG complaint.Regards

Nice little heaters, well built.
Lovely little heater, I refuse to buy plastic heaters because I don't trust them to not catch fire if a fan fails. I also refuse to use a two prong heater considering these thing are pull almost 15amps each. I like the metal chassis and the fact that it is grounded. Heat output is nice, I wish the fan blew a little harder but honestly it will heat a room pretty well and the noise from the fan is no very bad. It's surprising how quiet the little things are.

My Use For It's Problems
I give it a 10 for the way that I use it. However, the controls are very difficult to read and very difficult to turn. Therefore, I leave it plugged into a power bar on the high settings and just use the bar's on-off switch to operate the unit. -James

Quieter than expected.
Box heaters are notoriously noisy, especially as they grow old and the bolts and springs get loose. This unit is very quiet and gets the job done. On the highest setting it will quickly warm a 20x20 room. Heats a much larger area if you let it sit and are patient. Grill is metal, handles are plastic. Not thrilled about the plastic, but they can be force removed. Buying another one of these for another floor of the house.Update: Ive confirmed these space heaters are saving me money by allowing me to drop my thermostat and run these in just the rooms Im in. Saving about $50-100 per month in a ~4000 sq foot home.

Love this little heater!
Great little heater! Gets warm very quickly. Only downfall is the sensor on the bottom is very sensitive. Slightest move and it shuts off. Nice for safety but not so nice when someone bumps it slightly.
