Small Fan but powerful and quiet
I recently purchased another WindStream fan, the CH-999, and was so impressed with it I bought another, this fan is very powerful; especially for its small size. Very well constructed and surprisingly quiet. This fan moves a lot of air and I was very pleased that it has a chrome finish and not paint. Highly recommend this very high quality fan

crappy item
received fan on may 7 2013 two months later the motor will hardly turn the fan blade. there is a defective motor problem with item. the fan was only used occasionally not constantly running...this is a crappy unit do not buy it...the return requires you to return at your cost and pay for replacement shipping at your cost. and only a partcal refunde...so the the 30 day warranty is not worth the paper it written on...

Relatively quiet at lowest setting; fan walks at highest setting.
I already owned a fan, "Hawaiian Breeze" model number CH-V9 -- same model number as this "WindStream" fan, and they look virtually identical as well. While the Breeze is a relatively quiet and solid fan, however, this WindStream fan is a bit noisier at its highest setting and because the WindStream has an unbalanced motor and a lighter base (maybe the Breeze base's pipe wall is thicker on the inside), at its highest setting the WindStream vibrates such that it walks across my hardwood floor all on its own. It's as if this fan comes with an automatic swivel feature that moves only right-to-left and never stops. Undocumented feature or unacceptable bug? You decide.

Does the job but loud and kind of cheaply made.
i was looking for a fan to replace my old one and this one does the job. However, it is much more cheaply made and it's very loud. The brackets that hold the two "domes" together are lose and as a result, there is a rattling sound as the two metal pieces vibrate together. If you fix that problem the fan itself is still relatively loud as well but overall it's a decent fan.

Overall pretty good....
Works great. Puts out a lot of air and having adjustable speed on this small of a fan is pretty cool. The cage around it is a little noisyier than I would like but its not too bad. Not any clang clang falling apart sounds. I would buy another one.

It is just a great fan, it is cooling and quiet for the velocity!
I love this fan, just like the older one's, better than plastic yet reasonably priced for so much fan power. I do love my new WindStream!

shock hazard
When I opened the box, the first thing I saw was a bare copper wire. Upon closer inspection it is the wire that run directly from the power cord to the switch. Poor quality control by manufacture. Great service from amazon on return.

It worked for five whole minutes
Whether I received an anomalous, shoddy piece of equipment, I don't know. What I do know is that the fan worked without a hitch for about five minutes. After that, the fan no longer functioned. I followed the troubleshooting steps and got to the instructions about replacing the fuse inside the plug. The instructions had no visual diagram to accompany them and were very poorly written. Based on these less-than-decent instructions, I never could figure out how to remove the tab to replace the fuse. But even if I had figured it out, the product ships without a replacement fuse. Really, the main point is this: I shouldn't have to troubleshoot a brand new item after only five minutes of use. Luckily, Amazon was involved because it had fulfilled the order. Amazon paid the return shipping, scheduled a UPS pick up, and has already submitted my refund.
