A great buy
I bought this because it was a good deal, still was very expensive for an iron board, but I like quality products so I clicked that buy button. I also bought the steam iron from Rowenta. And for steam irons you gotta have the ironing board with vent "holes" as this one so the steam can escape. Upon arrival I inspected the product and found something very interesting. It says "made in Europe" but doesn't specify in what country it was manufactured. Then for the first time I set it up. After reading the reviews and watching how tos on YouTube, I wasn't expecting it to be too difficult. But I had no idea that this iron board has 2 BUTTONS. They colored in blue hue and watch out for those. One is used when you setting up the board; and it's located on the top. And the other located on the bottom and you will need it to fold the long leg in two. Other than that it's straight forward. Want to mention the quality of the product. As you may guess for this price it's a great quality product. And quick note about the sturdiness. It's very sturdy and can hold according to the instructions up to 90 lbs, howerer manufacturer advices not to use this board as a table. Also when I was "pressing" my dress pants I noticed that the tip of the board is not that sturdy so I kind of went easy on it. But in the middle and the end it's solid. ** things to keep in mind ** - As was mentioned before me the folding part of the board is not made of metal, it's plastic. I use it personally as my iron resting place. - the metal thing at the end that's designed to hold your iron has some rubber things wrapped around them in the middle. I don't know if I should rest my iron on them or should I take them off. No instructions at all about that part. Instruction are very basic I should say. I would have preferred just a flat surface so I can rest my iron on its heel. But I just use the end of the ironing board itself. But if you do decide to use it, you have to your iron at an angle as shown in the pictures not flat on top. So the hell will go on bottom and the tip of the iron will end up on the top of the metal "thingy".

Worth the price!
What a great board. I know, one does not really put much thought into an ironing board, as it appears all are quite the same and only the size of the surface differs, however, this is not the case for this board. If you want to put even a few moments of thought into your ironing board, think on this one. It is extremely heavy duty, no wobbling or rocking while ironing or moving clothes on the board. It is extremely easy to use as all the buttons you need to push to unfold and fold are clearly marked and are quite large. The legs are very sturdy without being heavy and they fold and unfold with ease as the lever is quite large and responsive. The entire system (I hate to call it an ironing board as I feel it really diminished the true nature of this piece of equipment :) functions wonderfully with room for any size iron (I have a large steam iron with side tank that rests wonderfully on the shelf below). The surface is extremely large and allows for ironing large dress shirts, skirts, dresses, etc. with little movement and in short order. I can iron my husbands 16 1/2 x 34 size dress shirts with about four moves and in less than one minute (I have a good iron as well) When not in use, you can fold the entire thing into a very short and compact space - making it easy to put anywhere when not in use - it even has wheels to help you move it, although it is not very heavy and can be lifted easily - the wheels are just a bonus I think!! If you cannot tell from the review, I think this is a great board and worth every dollar spent. This is not one of those high end purchases where you later think you should not have bothered - rather, I wonder how I went so long without this board and recommend it it to all of my friends who have to iron as it makes the task much easier!!

Nice design — terrible quality
This is a great foldable ironing board. Our last one broke after 2 years (the parts started falling off). Purchased another one Jan 6th., pulled it out and 2 parts fell off - and now won’t stay. I would NOT recommend this ironing board. We typically use the ironing board once a week — so this alike have lasted more than 6 weeks!!! I called Rowenta and I need to send back the ironing board for them to review if they will replace it. NOT easy to package up an ironing board. Save yourself the time and energy!!

Very, very nice ironing board
Yes, it's an investment, but this is a great ironing board. We kept our last one for 35 years, so figured this would amortize well! It is sturdy, height is great. A bit wider than some ironing boards, which is good for us. It is just a bit heavy, and of course costly, but well worth it. I don't like flimsy ironing boards. And, it arrived in 2 days - Amazon is amazing.

My favorite
The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because the iron holder on the end is raised up above the ironing board thus making it hard to get the iron close to that end. I wish it were designed so that it was either flush with or below the top of the board. I cut a towel the shape of the board and put it under the cover to give it more padding, I get better results that way. It’s super sturdy and nice and wide.

A good investment
Having read most of the reviews here on Amazon, I felt fairly confident I'd be happy with this purchase. I am indeed. I considered those negative points brought up in reviews and for the most part they are not a problem for me. I guess the main point is that you cannot have sturdy, durable construction without incurring some weight. A feature that I haven't seen mentioned much are the built-in rollers on the legs that facilitate moving the board when it is in its folded state. You can scoot it along to it's destination without much effort.

Disappointing quality for the price, and part of the ironing surface is plastic
I'm a beginning quilter and was looking for an ironing board with a wider, longer surface, sturdy legs, and room for an iron rest so I could easily iron long cuts of fabric. My current ironing board is a rather rickety one that is your standard size ironing board you can get from Target or Walmart. I have used a friend's Rowenta ironing board (which she'd gotten a few years ago from Costco and appears not to be made anymore) and was really hoping this one would be similar to that one. However, the quality of this one just didn't match the high price for a number of reasons: CONS: - The board is designed so that part of the board folds up and over the rest of the board to make it shorter when you want to store it. The problem is that this part that folds up isn't metal mesh like the rest of the board--it's plastic! As I was ironing cotton fabric, I noticed a strange sickly sweet-smelling smoke coming up from the board, and I'm pretty sure this is because I was (without knowing it at the time) ironing on top of this plastic, and the fumes were from the plastic. I'm not a fan of breathing in plastic fumes. - The metal iron rest on the side of the board is awkward. I believe it's designed so that you rest the iron flat on top of it, but I prefer to rest my iron on its heel, to avoid leaking. This is a personal preference, of course, but it made the iron rest useless to me. There's no easy way to remove it, though--you can't simply unscrew it, so it just takes up room without being useful. Also, the silicone (or rubber?) inserts on the rest were poor quality--one piece was falling off when I unpackaged the board. - The metal mesh of the ironing board wasn't well constructed. It had warped or wasn't fitted well into the frame, so that the mesh would "pop" up and down when I ironed on top of it. - The legs felt rickety. They did not sit smoothly on our hardwood floor, not even after I put a rug underneath. - The ironing board cover and pad were quite small and thin. PROS: - I did like the folding design of this board. It's very cleverly designed so that it folds up shorter than the typical ironing board. - I like the width of this board, but the length is deceptive, since part of the board is plastic, and if I had decided to keep the board, I wouldn't have wanted to iron over the plastic part anyway (see the note on the fumes, above), so the board would have ended up being shorter than an average board. Overall, I can't recommend this board, unless you are okay with ironing on top of plastic surfaces or highly value an ironing board that can be folded into a compact size. I still give it 2 stars, though, because its folding design is clever. For me, it just wasn't worth it for the price. I'm not usually into returning items I buy online, but I did with this one.

Hard to set up .
Once set up, it’s a good ironing board. However unfolding mechanism is too complicated and prone to failure while folding .
