CS-3 Compressor/Sustainer Pedal

I'm a bass player with a 5-string bass. I was looking for more sustain, not the compression so much. First I bought the Behringer CS400 Compressor/Sustainer pedal to try to save some money. It cost about $21. After a few days of playing through the pedal, I noticed high levels of audible distortion. It was as if this thing was a distortion pedal. I thought it was a dying battery so I tried a new one, then an external power supply, but it was no use. The distortion was so loud that I simply could not use the pedal at all if I wanted a clean sound. I don't recall distortion being there when I first started using this pedal, but it was there now, loud and clear. The pedal had become completely useless to me. I then reluctantly forked over a Benjamin Franklin for this Boss CS-3 pedal. As soon as I plucked the first note, there was sweet sustain with no audible distortion to my ears. I've been playing through it for several days now and it is still as clean as it was on day 1. Now I have a true compressor/sustain pedal. I should have just bought this in the first place instead of wasting $21 on a cheaper knock-off. The moral of the story: Buy the Boss pedal first, don't waste your money on cheaper models.

Boss CS3 is a secret weapon, subtle change in tone

Seems like a good compressor pedal. I love boss pedals with their soft quiet switch and there dependability.

Great for what it does. I placed it after the noise gate and before any other pedals. It actually works really well for me with every knob set close to 12’oclock

Buen pedal de compresión, hace su trabajo bien y con buena calidad, eso si hace algo de ruido peor se soluciona con un noise gate

Es un excelente pedal que ayuda a aumentar y estabilizar los niveles de la señal. Los controles permiten configurar varias opciones de compresión de la señal, desde un rango de selañes bajas a las altas, brinda un buen sustain también. Recomendado 100%.

Very strong recommendation. In fact if you want to improve the tone and want to get the most out of all the equipment (pedals, amps) get this. The tone is so fuller. A very pleasing balance of crispness and warmth. Give it a shot before in favt upgrading your guitar/amp, really.

Non è di semplice utilizzo, ma quando poi si impara ad utilizzarlo è molto prezioso. Pedale di qualità e resistente, come tutti i BOSS.

Es muy buen pedal me gustó mucho el sonido que ofrece, pero no es un pedal para todos ya que puede limitar las dinámicas, si lo compras asegúrate realmente lo que quieres, yo quedé encantado
