Obsessed
My kid is obsessed with the book. It's not meant to overwhelm with words, very toddler level. The illustrations are pretty if a bit small sometimes and the transparent pages are so cool. Covers a lot of topics that you can expand on

Reproductive system is missing!
First of all, the book is way smaller than I expected. I am not familiar with the series (My First Discoveries) and I did not pay attention to the description that states that the book size is 6.5 x 7 inches. For such a book it would be better to have a regular or big size. The idea of transparent pages with different body systems is absolutely wonderful. However, the reproductive system is missing! What kind of an odd mind would picture boys and girls genitals and leave out reproductive system? Hey, it is not like poof! and reproductive system appears out of nowhere at puberty! Also, a fetus is pictured in some kind of sphere in vacuum. Seriously? Nowadays at the age recommended (3-5 years) children already know that babies are not brought by storks, but grow in a woman belly. Authors (or editors, whoever made the decision on leaving those facts out) should get over their prudishness. So I would recommend this book ONLY as an additional material to complete anatomy book.

Perfect for my 4 yo
Great graphics. My son was interested enough to start asking questions. It does start with baby in womb(has a clear sheet, with picture. When you flip the page the image changes on backside of clear sheet). They use this method repeatedly(muscles, bones etc). Is age appropriate but if your not ready to talk about babies in the womb you might want to hold off on this one. But my son loves it and we pick it up at least once a week and he shows me where his bones are that are in the pictures.

He learns best by seeing what is being explained
My 5 year old has a lot of questions about his body. He learns best by seeing what is being explained. This book offers kid friendly images that help me show him what's on the inside. He loves the pictures that overlay.

This is a beautiful book on the human body -- the overlay pages ...
This is a beautiful book on the human body -- the overlay pages are gorgeous and show how each system in the body works. Some of the figures are anatomically correct. This book provides just the right amount of detail for a preschool-aged child who is curious about how the human body functions. I would recommend this for ages 3-5.

Great book for youth
It was difficult to find. I ordered it from several other resources and then it got "canceled" after I ordered it.

Good for 4 year old to “see” inside the body
My 4 year old loves this book, there’s more here than he can fully understand now but he can still look at the pictures and ask questions.

Exactly what I wanted
My 3.5 yr old son keeps asking about anatomy. He's interested in hearing about his veins, muscles and bones. And he wants to see pictures. I wish the book was longer and a little more in depth. But for a 3.5 yr old this is the perfect start. I love that it's a board book with overlays. It's just too cool!

If I could choose one anatomy book for children it would be this one
Bought for my son who has recently turned 3, this book is the perfect starting point for understanding the human body. It is comprehensive so would probably suit an older child as well, without being too complicated for a younger child. The illustrations are very detailed and clear and I really like that the body featured is that of a child similar in age to my boy (so that he understands that it's basically himself that he's looking at.)My son has recently been enjoying a wooden anatomy puzzle featuring the different layers of the human body from skeleton, organs, muscles, and then skin, so I was looking for a companion book to open up that conversation further. It's worth noting that he isn't very advanced in terms of holding a conversation yet he still finds this book engaging.I'm really pleased with this purchase and highly recommend this book to a wide age range of children.

Good illustrations But adult needs to look at book with child
I bought this for my granddaughter who's three. I looked through it first and decided to give it to my daughter to look at it with her as some of the illustrations needed explanation. ( there were illustrations of a fetus growing). I don't think it's a book you can give straight to a child but it's good to look at together.

great book
I chose this book over the others that are on sale here, because of the cover, however the book arrived with a different cover (the picture was of 3 little girls, the middle one front view with skin, the other 2 were covered with the veins and the nurves) so not as pictured here. However, my daughter doesn't seem to mind and just loves the book. She is forever turning the pages and loves the seethrough pages and looking at the inside of the human body.

This book is so good. Perfect for youngsters. Ive struggled finding a book with basic pictures and explanation but this is great. Highly recommend. Shows bones, organs, brain, skin and body part names.
