Overall a sturdy, quality product with one cosmetic flaw.
I bought this umbrella at full price after doing a lot of research, seeing as I wanted something high quality and sturdy with a curved handle (although after using fake spot, I got a little disheartened as to the authenticity of other reviews). Having received it today, I have decided that I like it very much and hope it'll last me many years. I plan to edit this after a few rainstorms to provide general feedback on its function. Here are some of its qualities.- This umbrella is very nice looking and sleek with a shiny black shaft and a comfortable, but not rubbery handle. Everything feels sturdy except the secondary umbrella struts, which reside between the shaft and the primary support struts as seen in the product picture. These are made of plastic, although it does not feel cheap. It also seems to be able to bear some weight, but probably not too much.- There is a hole in the shaft, as many people complained about. This is a downside, but not worthy of a star detraction. It is located two inches above the opening button so it seems to be necessary for the mechanism, as though it protruded through. Otherwise it looks like an extremely well-put-together umbrella. It seems every umbrella has this hole, so I can't really be bothered to call about it, although if there are versions without it I would really like one.- It's heavy. I like that. You might not.- The opening motion is very forceful and causes a small gust of wind. It gives off a very pleasant muted thud as it does this, almost like a car door being shut. Similarly, it can be difficult to close if you don't grab the mechanism with your entire hand. One swift motion does the trick, but it takes some muscle. I would not get this umbrella for a frail elderly parent or grandparent.- There is NOT a wind-resistant double canopy. This and the shaft hole are the only two things keeping it from being perfect, although the double canopy is a matter of taste.- After a few days of twirling it around and walking with it, the choice of the rubber-esque material on the tip means it scratches relatively easily. Still cosmetic, and does not hinder function.- The LifeTek logo is NOWHERE to be found on the umbrella. I love this.Overall this is a pretty solid product and seems worth the money for the quality manufacturing. I'd recommend it to any friends who wanted a higher-end umbrella.

Awesome Gentleman Purchase.
The Idea of a J handle umbrella is appealing to an up and coming college gentleman like my self looking to be more professional as i transition into business functions and network, however the wooden J handles are bulky chunks of cheap wood. This umbrella fixs that issue by having a nonslip normal sized handle that has a stylish look. The frame is very strong i took it out in heavy wind and it didn't come close to flipping even holding at angle for wind to catch it. I wish it had a vented canopy, but this seems water tight plus has a great handle to keep it where it belongs.

What an Umbrella Ought to Be
I received the umbrella in perfect condition. It's big. It's very solid. It's basic. It has nice features.About the only feature on the umbrella is it opens with a push of a button, but don't most umbrellas at least do that. It has a nice slip on cover. It has a rubber point on the tip of the umbrella that I suppose keeps the umbrella from slipping if you're using it as a cane. There's plenty of room under the opened umbrella for two people. The cane handle is very comfortable. It's not a portable umbrella.I like it.

Nice looking umbrella with one flaw
Nice looking umbrella with one flaw...the tiny hole in the shaft mentioned by other reviewers is definitely there. It doesn't look professionally drilled out but more like a crack where the internal mechanism has broken through. I contacted LifeTek (they emailed a reply the same day) and they said it's normal to have this hole but did offer to refund my money if I so chose to. While the hole isn't a big deal, it definitely "cheapens" the overall product. Other umbrellas don't have this hole so I'm a little perplexed at why this one is supposed to. I used it in the rain the other day after deciding to keep it and it performed very well. Decent coverage area to walk my daughter to school with both of us under the canopy. What I really like about this umbrella is the length of the cane when the umbrella is closed. Hard to find compared to other umbrellas. Overall, this would be a five-star product if the hole in the shaft wasn't there. I'm curious about everyone else's LifeTek Kingston purchases...did they all have this hole? One reviewer stated they got a replacement for the same complaint and yet I was never offered this. Please weigh in on this matter.

Too long and heavy for an older, shorter person; plastic, not a rubber tip
The umbrella is beautiful and appears sturdy and great for someone taller than me at only 5'2"It's also heavier than other cane umbrella's I have. Probably because it's a good sturdy product.I need a cane umbrella because of a bad back.Living in the tropics, we have frequent showers or hot sun, so a cane umbrella I want must meet the expectation of protection from the elements and support me just a bit.In the photo, the tip appears to be rubber. It's not. It would be dangerous to use for support on anything slippery or hard like tile or asphalt.I returned it since the men I'm close to rather just walk in the rain unprotected :-)

Well made and sturdy
I was looking for a quality umbrella with an automatic/button opener and this one works great; it pops right open. I bought two of these for our cars. We live in Florida where it rains half the year. These are very sturdy and don't collapse in windy conditions. I've used these for a year or two already and theyre still going strong. They have wide coverage. They're attractive. I have large hands, but I find the handle a bit large and I might have preferred that the umbrella was an inch or two smaller. It's not an umbrella that I would travel with or carry around all day. But I'd still buy this one again for the uses I put it to. Worth the money.
