Good Taste for the Price
at 1.24 per drink, its really good tasting. It's worth the money if you can wait for your energy drink. Now as to wax poetically.1. Hearing I ask | from the holy races,From Heimdall's sons, | both high and low;Thou wilt, Valfather, | that well I relateOld tales I remember | of men long ago.2. I remember yet | the giants of yore,Who gave me bread | in the days gone by;Nine worlds I knew, | the nine in the treeWith mighty roots | beneath the mold.3. Of old was the age | when Ymir lived;Sea nor cool waves | nor sand there were;Earth had not been, | nor heaven above,But a yawning gap, | and grass nowhere.4. Then Bur's sons lifted | the level land,Mithgarth the mighty | there they made; The sun from the south | warmed the stones of earth,And green was the ground | with growing leeks.5. The sun, the sister | of the moon, from the southHer right hand cast | over heaven's rim;No knowledge she had | where her home should be,The moon knew not | what might was his,The stars knew not | where their stations were.

*** For States That Have Mandatory Soda Can Deposit Laws!! ***
I'm not sure if this list is absolutely complete, but the Monster can I'm looking at lists: CA CRV (CA Refund Value is variable), ME, VT, CT, MA, NY, IA, HI, MI, and OR that have either a 5 or 10 cent per can deposit law, which customers get back upon returning the empty can to a store. This is to encourage mass recycling of cans. I live in MI, where our deposit law is 10 cents per can, so I happened to notice this on my invoice.I can't believe there aren't more states demanding this recycling effort, but you know who you are if you should be included for this information.I decided to try the Amazon brand and thought about recycling the 48 cans I just had delivered. They do NOT LIST the mandatory state deposit amounts on their cans. Therefore, it's impossible to prove you have paid the deposit on these cans unless you carry your invoice around while recycling.Further, I know from decades of recycling cans and bottles in MI that VERY FEW stores will refund a can of a brand they do not carry in that store. If a store doesn't carry Monster, they will NOT give 10 cents back to a customer with an empty Monster can. A lot of this is programmed into the machines by the beverage vendors, so stores have little control. The machines just reject the cans and we take them to another store that carries the rejected brand. Obviously, only Amazon.com carries the Amazon branded beverages.I contacted Amazon about this and they were super duper helpful and gave me a $5 refund on account for the $4.80 I spent in deposits that I can not refund in MI. I will recycle my cans as standard aluminum with my other recycling instead of taking them to a store as I do with other cans.During the pandemic, machines closed down. When they opened again recently, people lined up to clear out their garages and basements of cans and bottles. I made over $60 with my stored up returnables, so 10 cents a can really adds up over time.Imagine how many cases go to the states above. At 5 or 10 cents a can, Amazon is pulling in a remarkable amount of money for deposits they never have to reimburse because we can't take our cans back to Amazon. And like I've said, it's 99.99% improbable that I would get my 10 cents back from any local store for the Amazon brand because they don't carry it and I can't prove I paid it without my invoice. The Amazon representative said that they would definitely take this situation to the higher authorities and I suggested placing this information in the descriptions as well as programming their calculations to NOT add in the deposit costs on the Amazon branded items, as people won't be able to return the cans for cash.POINT: For those ordering Amazon branded beverages in deposit states, be sure your invoice does NOT include the deposit amounts unless you are sure that stores in your area will accept Amazon branded containers that do NOT have the deposit information printed on the can.It took me about 10 minutes total in online chat to resolve this issue. I encourage everyone in the same boat to do the same so Amazon is sent a clear and strong message that charging us a deposit we can never get back is just unethical as they make a killing on the charges that they themselves never have to pay out to customers.*** DISCLAIMER *** I do NOT think Amazon is doing this on purpose to make more money. I think it is just an oversight in the calculation programming. They can absolutely charge the 10 cents for Monsters, as I can take those back to just about anywhere and get the deposit back. For Amazon brands, not so much. This wouldn't stand out to a programmer who doesn't live in a deposit state, as the amount is legally charged for so many of the branded products they sell (Coke, Pepsi, Monster, etc. are all fair game for deposit collection and have deposit information printed on the cans, so we can get our 10 cents back from local stores.).*** I HOPE that Amazon is paying those collected deposits to the states or something, though... they collect, but never pay out to their customers, so THIS IS PROBLEMATIC.***I'm actually going into great detail here as well, hoping Amazon reads and understands the problem. People who regularly pay deposits on their beverage containers may appreciate it. For those in states that don't have deposit laws, I'm sorry for the lengthy discussion.TASTE/QUALITY/ETC.: I'm enjoying a Red can right now. While it does have a bit of an after taste, it's not a distraction or problem for me. I drink artificially sweetened drinks exclusively (no sugar!), so I'm used to a bit of variance in taste. It's very similar to Monster Ultra Red in my opinion, though. The cardboard trays that the cases come in ARE more flimsy than the Monster packaging. You really have to be careful moving cases around for this reason. I have had a pinhole problem in a Monster case, though, so it's not a deal breaker. Accidents happen with either brand.I would absolutely buy the Amazon brand from now on because it is now $2.40 less expensive per case in MI due to the deposit issue on top of whatever the price difference is on a case of Monster otherwise. It is also MUCH easier to recycle the cans with my other recycling rather than hauling the cans to a store and feeding them to a machine for a refund. Like I said, it's an automatic part of life here in MI, but not having to do it for these 48 cans is a welcome break in the routine while at the same time being environmentally sound as I recycle the cans otherwise.

I love the taste, but there's an issue somewhere
I love the flavor, great value, BUT, somewhere along the line the cans aren't holding up.I believe it's either the packaging (they put a case of these into a box that could almost hold two of them, akin to putting a VW beetle into a container that was designed for a heavy-duty pickup), or the cans themselves - either way, at least 3-4 of them each time have either sprung a leak or the can go squeezed by other cans in the package, leaving them less than full and completely void of any carbonation and looking like they were compressed somehow. Now that I know what to look for , I won't be drinking those that are easy to squeeze, but if this keeps up I'll be looking elsewhere for my drinks as I hate paying for something I can't consume. NOTE: this happens with the silver variant of these drinks as well.

Second Order, Packaging is still bad.
UPDATE: I ordered another case, and once again its in a box that is way too big for it. The only "padding" is a strip of brown paper. This time one of the cans just had a hole in it. Clearly it had leaked all over, all the cans were wet and sticky. The box was wet. This could be a great product, but dealing with the shipping conditions is a pain. I'd gladly pay an extra couple of dollars to have it packaged correctly. I'm going to keep ordering them though, and everytime it arrives in poor condition, I'll remove a star.I'm fairly impressed with the flavor. Its not as tart as I would like, but over all its very tasty. Its losing a star because of how it was packaged. Plenty of other canned drinks come in boxes that fit them perfectly, this does not. Two cans were loose in the box, and one can had leaked. If they were packaged correctly this wouldn't happen.

Seriously Tasty
WOW!!! If you’re looking for a fizzy, tasty energy drink...this is the one!I’ve tried just about everything out there. Some tasted so bad, I poured the drink down the drain, seriously!I ordered the Red Energy Drink and will look no more. It’s a 16 oz, 2 cups, can ... fits perfectly in a koozie.Best of all, it tastes really, really good! And, it’s not overly carbonated...just the right amount of fizz. However, the main reason I choose this drink is the taste....seriously tasty!
