CobyDP700BLK 7-Inch Digital Picture Frame -Black

This is my second digital photo frame. The first died after a few months of use. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted a new one. The size is perfect for the location so I didn't require a large frame. I saw this... recognized the name, Coby. I've yet to have a problem with Coby products and didn't anticipate any with this. The picture quality is exceptional... better than I expected. Set up was a bit tricky though. I didn't read the manual. I always like to set up my electronics by trial-and-error. Well, I plugged this in and put a jump drive in the usb port and the show began! Wow! This is an attractive frame. One would think that it cost a lot more. I placed it on a bookcase adjacent to my computer and I can view it while browsing the internet. I love it and the price makes this a real bargain. I plan to leave this on around the clock so if I experience a problem, I'll update my review. Meanwhile, I believe that you will find this to make a nice gift... to yourself or someone else.One month later... my Coby frame died. I was really disappointed since I've had success with Coby brand products. I'll call (or email) Coby and see if they will replace it. December 17... no reply to my email. I called (successfully). What I need to do is mail the item back to Coby with a money order for %8. They will repair or replace the frame in six to eight weeks. The effort and cost to return this would exceed the price I paid for it!

So of course, its the holidays and my family is obsesive about pictures. I knew I could not afford to litterally send them hundreds of framed pictures so I found this gem. While cost effective, it serves its purpose fantastically. It arrived at my home in there nice tidy boxes that when unboxed from the amazon seller they are still in there originally factory boxes (Which, if like me, is a blessing when sending halfway aross this wonderful country of ours) So lets get to the good stuff. When unboxing you see the unit and beside that is the small package containing the chargers and cords. When plugging the unit in and turning it on, to my surprise many options popped up. The menu is easy to navigate and customize which is great when sending as a gift to parents and grandparents. After you load your sd cards (purchased seperatly) you simply pop them in, turn it on, and BAM! there are your pictures. You can go into the menu to get cool effects like fizz out and slide across. You can also set it to shuffle the photos. Although im not sure if you can change the timing. The resolution looks just fine as it is a piece that you most likely will not be nose to screen with to check the pixels (it sits about 4 feet from my face and I cant see any "boxey pixels") All in all this is a great product and when needed I will buy another.

While Coby may not be a premium brand when it comes to electronics, I have purchased quite a few of these units and so far so good. This is a nice versatile photoframe and will run smoothly throughout the day, if you have placed it on your desk at the office. What's important to note is that this is not a High Definition photoframe, so if you are used to looking at your pictures on an LED monitor, you will find a fault with this product. Apart from just displaying your photos, it can be set to display a clock or a calendar. Remember when you could only put one picture in a frame at a time? Well not anymore. With this digital photo frame you could take a picture of every single person in China and display them all. Well, that may be a slight exaggeration, but you could definitely fit the entire population of Rhode island in it... well half of them... alright, all the ones with red hair who are called Billy Bob. You get the idea. This will hold a lot of pictures and display them one-by-one as you smile and remember that fabulous world cruise that you just returned from, or else all your recent trips to the dollar store, depending on your income and tastes.And it's not just pictures of people and places you can display in this, oh no. You could display pictures of cats, clocks, cucumbers, cups of cappuccino or a collection of crushed coconut cupcakes covered in cold creamy custard. This thing can handle anything you throw at it, 'ceptin that if you throw things at it they'll probably miss. So it's better to plug them in via a flash drive type of thingy. Got that? Good. great for the money

It does what it says it does, a little difficult to navigate around the setting buit for the price you cannot grumble. It sits in my store front window and shows off all my dog grooms. You can see it better at night.

This is the first Digital Phot Frame I purchased and it is okay for the price. I would have liked a little transitions, but it does what it is suppose to do.
