Terrific iron!
This is a terrific iron! It's the fourth iron I have brought into my house in the past month., two from Amazon, two from local stores. Two I returned. I kept one, but when it took me five minutes to iron a pillowcase, I realized I had to look further. Hence, the Hamilton Beach. It is just a wonderful iron. It's so smooth, moving easily along the fabric, and steams wonderfully. I keep looking for more things to iron! It IS heavy; I think it's over 3 pounds before you add water. But I am female and older. Perhaps this wouldn't bother others. Otherwise, it's great, and I like the retractable cord.

Excellent Iron.. Very little to not like about it.
I am over all very pleased with this iron. My old, very cherished, late 50's Presto Iron developed a major problem and blew a hole in the ironing board as the cord went POW!!! TG I wasn't in the room when that happened, or much less holding on to it... You know? Anyway.. The hunt began, as lots has chanegd over the years. I love the retractable cord and the large flat base. This makes it much more stable when you stand the iron up on the ironing board, or off side to cool or soemthing. I used starch during the first ironing and didn't even have to clean the soleplate; absolutely nothing stuck or eneded cleaning. I am glad they had an almost periwinkle blue.. purple on the blue side is my favorite. The iron is of course lighter than my original, so a bit more pressure was needed to iron mm new curtains before hanging.. This iron is also from the second school of thought behind steam irons, where it does more of a shot of steam with the secondary spray option, instead of the constant steam to which I have been accustomed these last 30 years.. This is just fine, and is actually more economical. The iron gets hot almost prestissimo quickly, so there is verey little wait time. I love the special finish the soleplate --it just moves so easily over the fabric. The Iron itself has only a 1 year warranty, but the soleplate has a 10 year warranty on the finish.. This was a major selling point for me. My only rteal complaint is that I like a heavier iron.. so.. 8.5 out of 10 to y'all.

nice machine for a good price
My first new iron in at least 20 years, this is such an upgrade! I love the lighted dial, making it easy to see exactly which setting is selected. It is not too heavy - I had carpal tunnel surgery on my dominant hand just a few months ago and have no issue using this iron. The water tank holds quite a bit of water. I use my watering can for my herb plants to fill it (the gooseneck spout is helpful). I especially appreciate the retractable cord. No more messy cords on the shelf. I have found it very good for ironing on linen and cotton.

Nice iron so far
Nice iron but has a burning smell when you use it. I’m hoping it is bc it’s new, but only time will tell. Otherwise it’s a nice size and works as expected. Love the retractable cord.

Such a Great Iron!
I have long used a rechargeable iron. I enjoyed the novelty of it, and I actually had no complaints, but my current sewing room set up makes cradling the iron in the charger a bit ... scary (will I burn myself?). So I decided to go back to a plug-in iron. Oh, I wish I'd done this years ago. It's hotter, so it works faster. The steam on this baby is incredible. It heats up so fast! I could not be happier! This iron is highly recommended!

Nice for the price
This steam iron is just the ticket. I do alot of sewing and quilting and pressing seams is a must. The steam feature can be turned off or on. The weight is acceptable as it is heavy enough to get the job done, but not so heavy that you feel like you are doing reps at the gym. I also like the auto shutoff and the automatic cord winder.

This iron is what I would call "substantial". It is a fairly heavy weight, which I like, and the feature of the retractable cord I love. I use this iron primarily for sewing needs and I've found that it heats up quickly, the steam feature works well, as does the spritzer feature. It beeps if you keep it on the material too long, which I understand can be a good feature, but I find that kind of annoying that it would beep even if I have been moving the iron around quite a bit, for instance on a tablecloth. However, in some instances I'm sure people would appreciate that feature. All in all, I am very happy with the iron. I'll be even happier if I would quit dropping irons on the floor, and breaking them, but that's another story.
