Clyde McPhatter was one of the greatest R&B vocal group lead vocalists. His recordings with the Dominoes and Drifters are superb. I could have done without his solo material which most of was so-so, especially with the chorus backing. When I listen to side one I skip the solo recordings because I'm a big Drifters fan. Leave the solos for a Clyde McPhatter CD.I just noticed the solo recordings on Disc 4. Again, I will skip those. This is a Drifters CD Set. It would have been better if this was 3 discs with just the vocal group recordings.

Real Gone Music has done a wonderful job of presenting the first three Drifters album along with tons of singles!..Most of the hits that we all know are here along with many more great songs that are just as good and an amazing find to this formally casual Drifters' listener! The sound quality is superb-I am not a big fan of "mono", but with headphones it is easy to appreciate all the separate elements of the songs-no muddy mixes here.

Great audio quality with good renditions of songs I was not aware the Drifters sang. Very enjoyable.

Good addition to my collection.

It's OK it has most of their hits on trhere.

Another fantastic release by this label delivered quite fast

Love the CD..brings me back to the oldies but goodies time..

These were bought to replace worn out 50's vinyl and hear a few more tracks that I had not heard before. These are the pioneering Atlantic recordings and a follow up with the later ones would be very welcome. Re-mastering is fair, perhaps I should take off half a star here as some do not quite match the aforesaid vinyl. My theory is that the re-mastering was a bit too drastic thus taking a bit of the shine off Clyde McPhatter's voice.

初期のDRIFTERS のアルバム３枚と、ORIGINAL ALBUMS に収録もれの曲を集めたもの。3 CLASSIC ALBUMS とあるので３枚と勘違いしがちだが、４枚入っている。最後の一枚は一部例外を除いてClyde McPhatter 関連の曲を集めたものだ。ここにはORIGINAL ALBUM SERIES の５枚組に収録が漏れている Ben E. King リードの There Goes My Baby, Dance With Me, This Magic Moment も入っている。３枚のアルバムは５枚組とダブるが、値段が安いのでオススメだ。半月ほどかかっても構わないのなら海外業者のものを買えば３５０円の配送料を払ってもまだだいぶ安い。もちろん同じ商品だ。ただしケース割れなどトラブルのときは返品交換など往復の期間が必要だからそのへんが納得できる人に限る。

さすがDRIFTERSと感動しました。楽曲、歌、声、とてもすばらしいと思いました。
