Planet AudioAC1200.2 2 Channel Car Amplifier - 1200 High Output, High/Low Level Inputs, High/Low Pass Crossover, Hook Up to Subwoofer for Bass

I loved this amp when I first hooked it up. I selected 2v input and wired two skar 10s into 2ohms in a sealed box. This amp pushed the 10s perfectly. They beat hard. The selectable 2v input quit working within 3mo. Could be a fluke with my particular amp. Now I can only run the amp on the low input voltage setting and have to turn the gain all the way up. It doesn’t have the output power it did prior to this malfunction. I’m considering trying to have it repaired under manufacturer warranty but buyer has to pay shipping both ways. As cheap as this amp is it could be easier just to buy another amp.

I purchased this amp by recommendation from a professional installer/retail outlet. Of course I purchased the unit from amazon. He told me amazon was selling this amp BELLOW his cost. I currently have three amps in my car system. This one was for my 6x9 polk audios. I use the built-in high pass crossover set at about 100-110 hertz. About 99% of the amps out there use peak ratings instead of RMS which is what they use on all home equipment. Typically, regardless of manufacturer. they are about 1/3 or in some cases 1/5th the peak rating in actual rms. By comparison, Planet audio rates their amps at about 85% or higher in rms. For example, this amp is 1200 peak/600 watts peak per channel x two (stereo). But the rms is 485 watts x two. I have a PYLE 1000 peak/500 watt peak per channel x two & the rms is a pitiful 145 watts rms. Now figure that one out for yourself...do you want 485 watts rms per channel or 145? They are also smaller in size, cleaner in thd (.01), better in signal to noise ratio (110). All this stuff amounts to an amplifier that is nearly double or better in quality than any amp out there at nearly double the price. An added feature is a control knob you can mount anywhere in reach to turn the bass up or down ten decibels. Whats neat is that it uses a standard telephone cable that is supplied & if something were ever to happen to your original wire, any telephone cable would replace it. To put it bluntly, you would be a complete moron to buy any other brand of amp with very, very few exceptions (American Bass for example is better but BOY are you gonna pay more).

First and foremost, we know this amp isn't really 2,000 watts. There's an equation that you can plug in the numbers to your amp and really figure out what this thing can do RMS wise. Mathematically anyways. It's not really real-world results but it's close to it.Usually, you can figure out the amount of amps this thing draws by adding up the rating on the fuses. Mine came with two 25's.Okay, the equation is: Volts x Amps = Watts. 14.4 (while the vehicle is running) x 50 amps draw = 720 watts rms.Now you have to factor in the amps efficiency which is about 60-70 percent for a class AB amp which this one is. So 720 watts minus 30 % = 504 watt rms.Equations aside, this is an awesome amplifier! I think it looks really good, it's made out of awesome materials, and it kind of lights up blue. The Planet Audio logo is just plastic. The Anarchy text subtly lights up blue when the amp is powered on.I love all of the options this amp provides, I absolutely love how it comes with a remote so you can dial in the level that you want on top of your preset level on the amp itself, and it's really quiet. No fans. Just passive heating technology, which is fine! I haven't used this amp for extended periods of time. About an hour at most, and it hasn't overheated on me. I hope this amp lasts me a long time as for I'm really happy with it and I'm really hoping it stays that way!

Need to fix this amp to where the bass knob actually works!!!! Don’t lead people to believe they work when they don’t!!!! Other than that a great amp

Like the other reviewers, this off-brand made me a bit skeptical, however, I've been surprised and with Amazon's return policy, I gladly took the chance.I had previously had a 1000W amp installed to 1 10" xplode (not the best sub, but it was free). It was so-so and the amp needed to be replaced. I quickly swapped in the 2KW planet audio amp and wow was it amazing. FYI, my previous sub was connected with 2 gauge +12v and ground wires.Installation and configuring took about half an hour and I even routed the controller up under the front dash for easy sub control. In my 2005 Ford F150, the routing is very easy.Configuring the amp was easy! Everything was labeled with ease; just needed a little screw driver to change the dials as i listened to different music. It was easy to fine tune.As for the remote, I pretty much just cranked up the amp and let the head unit (Pioneer) and remote control it (since the amp was tucked behind the seat). Easy control, i can get from no-to little-to A LOT of bass, very quickly.The sound is phenominal, I've never had this crappy sub 1) sound this good (no crackles or weird resonance) and 2) get this loud. I pushed nearly to the amps max and it still sounded great.All-in-all this was a great purchase! Heavily encourage anyone who is looking for a cheaper sub/2 speaker amp to get this! Well well well I would have never thought that this amp (2000watt) would stand up to the challenge. For the very little money you spend and a 2000watt amp, this thing differently moves power to my subs. When I pulled up to the house my wife said that she could she the juice in her cup ripple when she was sitting in the deck, and for the sub control I love it, works perfect. So for the cheap price compared to other bands with you pay twice or triple has much its worth it for me. I honestly wasn't expecting much but so far I was wrong.

2600 watt !! Yeah right !!Hard to run a single 350w 12inch without protection light go on ! Amp come very hot ! I will return it !

Just installed this amp into my truck, wired it to 2 10” DVC 4ohm Rockford shallows, and I’m pretty impressed with this amplifier, it powers them plenty and still has a lot more to go! All and all this amp is awesome for the price, doesn’t break the bank.. my only con about this amp is the size of it, wish it was smaller so I could install it in a spot harder to see, but I found a spot that worked so I’m happy!

Amp works great so far , installed it myself last week powering a a shallow 10"pioneer sub that I also bought in here . Both sub and amp sound great. Only down fall is the remote bass switch in the amp kit does sweet eff all * update the remote bass switch does work you just need to change the frequency button on the amp*

Incredible product. Easy to instal and it really pounds my 18” Rockford Fosgate sub. Would recommend 100%.
