The Purple Octopus is a quirky analog octave up effect. The 2' x 2' box can squeeze its way onto any pedal board. Internal trimmers control output volume, with plenty of boost on tap, and mix. The sound is classic and wonderful in front of a fuzz.

Works on 9v or 12v!
I like this. It’s small. It’s purple. It sounds good. But it’s not quite everything I’d hoped it would be. It is too drivey, that is to say it adds crunch whether you want it or not. Which is not necessarily a problem, unless you don’t want more drive with your octive up. Good pedal, … And it works fine on 12 V, if you want to do that.Edit: I’ll keep this at four stars but I am finding it frustrating to dial-in a level just slightly above unity gain. I understand that you can order this pedal with the trim pot controls as regular pots and knobs, and I recommend you do that. I like the sounds this thing makes but it’s annoying to have to remove it from a pedalboard, remove four screws, and fight with little trims to try to find the secret sauce.
