I bought to make a gasket as part of a sounding rocket payload. The shipping was fast, and everything was intact. The payload has not flown on the rocket yet and as in rocket I mean a sounding rocket that will go into space. On the way down it will reach a temperature of 500f and splash down into the ocean. If the RTV seal will hold and our electronics stay dry then I will keep it at 5 stars, if not then -1 star.

I used this for years on electronics and for mounting optics in a frame. No out-gassing on my optics or etching on ,my electronics. Have run test from -30C to 55C. Plus on most surfaces if you need to remove it it an orange stick works fine.

This is good stuff. RTV with no smell. Of course, you have to like grey. I use it to hold large components in place on PC boards, so color isn't an issue.

For electronic applications, this is THE silicone product to use because it is absolutely non-corrosive. It emits methanol, not acetic acid like all the common RTV formulations. It's tough, and if the substrate is clean, very difficult to remove. For potting connectors, weatherproofing splices, and protecting HV connections, this is the only one I ever recommend. This stuff does not stick very well. After it dries, it peels off extremely easily. If you've seen how well Aquarium silicone sealant sticks, this stuff is exactly the opposite. Avoid if you need good sticking power.
