Behavioral Genetics 5th Edition

Interesting buy very dry. More of a text book. Seems almost apologetic in its attempt to not frighten anyone about futuristic ScFi genetic policies.Too many graphs and math ratios and formulas for my ability.

I used this book for a university class. It was so interesting that I read topics not covered. I absolutely loved the book.It covered a lot of topics and provided evidence along with graphs and charts.

This was my required textbook for a heredity and behavior class. It was a great introduction to behavioral genetics, with short chapters and written in a way that was easy to follow. Will probably keep after class is over!

The book came in a very timely manner and was exactly what I ordered! The correct edition and everything! The book was in good condition and only visible signs of use is a moderate amount of highlighting. Overall, excellent!

Scholarly, thorough and easy to use. An exemplary book on an important topic. Older editions are sound as of the date of the revision. The latest edition is, of course, best but very expensive.

it's actually quite interesting. there is a ton of great information in here for novices and for the very experienced. i'm still a genetics idiot (there's so much to know) but this is interesting and informative

It's dense, but as far as text books go, this is one of them. Not a terrible read if this is your kinda thing.

Absolutely fantastic book. Written by one of the leading behavioural geneticists - Robert Plomin. Everything is explained brilliantly and it makes genetics seem much easier than it actually is. One thing to mention is that if you don't know much about genetics, you can't just skip to a paragraph in chapter 7 and expect to understand it. The book explains things as it goes along so the first few chapters need to be read in order to understand what is mentioned later on. However, as the books is easy reading this wasn't a problem. I used this book for the third year of my degree as my main reference for behavioural genetics and I got a 2:1 so it is a very good book! There has been a newer version that has been released, however it is much more expensive and this book explains most of what is in the new book.

This is a great introduction to BG, but it is a textbook - and it reads like one. Also, the science in it is no longer entirely up to date. But those are my quibbles. If you want to understand the basics of BG, this is the place to start. And any intelligent person should know about this as it is going to be one of the most important fields of science and society.

Covers then basics but need more detail

This book was bought for my University studies but is actually really interesting otherwise. Not your typical textbook format. Great academic book.
