Ok but not the best
This damper will work but it doesn’t work well enough for me to feel comfortable using it on my anthracite stove pipe. The quality is ok, but definitely not what I want for continual long-term use. It was easy to adjust, I needed to take the door from vertical to horizontal orientation and that was easy to do. It is easy to set, but doesn’t react well with drafts outside and gets stuck open sometimes, despite the setting. The other thing that concerned me is the damper door blew completely out when I started my stove and the draft hadn’t yet started flowing well and the stove kind of backfired, as they will sometimes. It blew the damper door clean off of the unit. Had I not been in the basement to witness this and put it back right away, the stove would have been venting directly into the house.I’d use this on a wood stove at camp or something like that but I upgraded to a better quality one for home.

Damper action is a bit stiff, does not swing freely
I found the damper disc to be stiff in it's swing action. As it was, I installed it on my flue pipe but found out after I cut the pipes and installed it , the stove manufacturer says not to use a damper because it is a EPA certified stove to be used without any dampers after the firein the flue, but to use dampers built in the stove ahead of the fire.

Works as is should but outer coating is flaking off.
The black coating is coming off after only a few uses. I noticed after the second day of using my new stove, that the coating is flaking off. The temp gauge on my exposed black pipe hasn't been any hotter than 400 degrees F. The rest of my black pipe is now a matte black after the initial break in and has lost the more glossy coating but none of it has peeled or flaked like this section of pipe from USSC. Not a really big deal because structurally it's sound but cosmetically speaking, it looks like i installed one old salvage yard piece of black pipe along with the new black pipe.

Useful addition for wood stove
Haven’t installed it yet but quite sure it will help solve the draft issue I’m having.
