Rather hard to read. But I was required to read it for school. Informative though!

try to find a textbook for my globalization class and got this one. Well, it has only about 150 pages. Read the first 13 pages and have gone nowhere. The authors are not in a hurry to discuss history. They discuss a lot of terminologies. I don't think our students care about those terminologies. For our academics, this brief discussion of terminologies seems too simply. I could not see any academic value it. Then I thought that, from page 13, history should start. Not really. The authors repeat themselves: the word "globalization" or even the adjective "global" appears in the title of only a small number of history books...... Well, How many times do they need to tell us this simple fact? Less than 140 pages left, and the authors promise to cover about 700 years of global history. Can they do it? I just need to take a break (need a cup of coffee to keep myself awake). I would come back to read and hope somewhere in the next 10 pages history would start.

This was just what I was looking for while working on my ancestry book to explain why my family members immigrated when they did.

Made me understand Globalization and its impacts on the world we live in today and how it got to where its at.

Very thorough and engaging history of economic and social globalization.
