Great Book About Sisters and Family
This book is about 3 sisters: Joey, Stevie, and AlexJoey is the youngest, at eight years old. She is fun and cheerful. In this book, you get to read Joey's notebook. She rights odd little pages about Jell-O an kissing and also writes a funny column with Alex called Dear Sock Monkey. Joey is definitely closer to Stevie than Alex. They share a room and tease Alex together.Stevie is the middle child. She is responsible and sophisticated, but she also has a fun side. Stevie and Joey annoy Alex, but Stevie is a little nicer that Joey about it. Stevie often refers toherself as the glue in the family. She is in the middle and holds everyone together. Stevie is the narrator of this book.Alex is the oldest. She is a big actress. In fact, she contributes to the story by writing scripts of the events. Alex is the leader of the Sisters Club. That is the club that the three girls form together. Alex may seem old and mature, but she has a soft spot for her Sock Monkey. He is the mascot of the club. Alex can be very bossy. The club meets in her room, and she has lots of rules. The plot of this book is very cute. It starts off with the girls' mom getting a cooking show. She is home less and less. Thefamily struggles to find dinner every night. One day, Stevie decides to make dinner. She asks Joey and Alex to help. Alex refuses because she is preparing for the lead role in the school play. Joey and Stevie make a disastrous dinner! But Stevie continues to cook, and does better every day. Meanwhile, Alex gets the lead role in the school play of Beauty and the Beast. Her crush gets the Beast. One day, Alex invites the boy, Scott Howell, over to practice lines. Alex's parents suggest that he stay for dinner. Stevie volunteers to make dinner, which is fondue. At the dinner, Stevie and Joey embarrass Alex in from of Scott. Alex is angry and becomes hostile to her sisters. Meanwhile, the play's opening night draws nearer and nearer. During the play, Alex trips and falls. But there is still one more act! Can the show go on? Stevie, who has bad stage fright, doesn't want to ruin it for Alex, so she steps in. Alex forgives her sisters, and they all become friends.I think that this is a great story about love and sisters. It teaches good lessons. It is also humorous. If you have a sister (or 2!) you should really check this out. I can't wait to read the others in this series!

Yay
I chose this rating because I really enjoyed the plot line....AKA there is none...kinda. I liked the characters and how the sisters would fight but still love each other. I would recommend this story for ages 11-15 but it does not matter because it is such a great book that even as an adult You could end up loving it

Adorable little book!
I read this before allowing my daughter to read it and I found it quite enchanting. Very sweet book without falling into any of the pitfalls that most books in this genre do. I would definitely recommend it for the younger group. Great price as well!

My Middle Daughter Loves It
This rating is from my middle daughter. It's great. No really, she loves this book and doesn't require any prompting or encouraging to read it. It started out as reading it for homework, but she's also reading it for pleasure. She's in 5th grade, nearly 11 years old, and has ASD. She connects with the middle sister because SHE is a middle sister. She chuckles and gets the jokes and silliness much like she does in Judy Moody books, but I think she's enjoying this so much more. We'll definitely be making sure to get the other books in the series.
