Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner, Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Formula, 8.5 Ounce

The smell is kind of strong but okay. The product is amazing. I have extra sebum production and slightly acne prone skin, and this is a life saver. If I have a pimple coming in, I will soak a cotton bud or some tissue in this and let it rest on my skin for probably way too long, but it is SUPER effective at reducing how long I have to deal with the pimple and redness. If I remove sebum from my pores, I will do the same thing: soak a cotton bud or tissue in this and let it rest until it has evaporated. I do get a slight burning sensation because my skin is super sensitive, but I don't have to deal with any lingering redness the next day from irritated skin. (Both because of removing stuff from my skin with force, and use of the product.) I love this stuff so much. Cons: Do not apply close to your nostrils or eyes though. It will sting and irritate them. Try to avoid breathing in a lot of the fumes, for the same reason. If you have sensitive skin, like I do, do a patch test in a couple different areas, to be safe.

Not only do I love this product and swear by it, but my husband does as well (possibly even more than I do) and I could not believe how quickly I was able to see a significant change in my skin and I was completely blown away by the change in my husband's skin after only a week or two as he has dealt with larger pores since his high school days and when I tell you this stuff is magic in a bottle I am not kidding. I'm legitimately crushed and grieving the loss of this product. I'm guessing it was discontinued like a lot of the really good products lately considering the outrageous price tag on it from a seller that must have had a stockpile of it and/or bought a bunch of it when it was initially discontinued & has hiked the price through the roof knowing that there are probably people out there that would pay this because they love it. Even worse is the fact that Neutrogena just pulled it with 0 explanation and replaced it with a new product that is nowhere near the quality of this one and is nowhere near as effective. I've been searching FOREVER trying to find another brand that is a similar dupe for this with no luck finding anything similar whatsoever.

I've been using this toner for a few days now, but after 2-3 uses I've noticed a difference in the the size of my pores. They shrink after a moment or two after putting it on, but the effects don't last after I wash my face. I probably need to use it for a while longer like other people have said before I notice a somewhat permanent result. On the other hand, it successfully removes a lot of dirt that's been clogging my pores! I can see all of it on the cotton pad and I'm surprised by how much junk is left on my skin after using my cleanser. I do have a problem with the smell. It's probably because of the alcohol in the product that's making it a little too strong for my taste. The alcohol also stung my skin the first use, but it's gotten significantly better. Does not dry my skin out at all. I use it mainly in the morning before I head out and during the day when I need a pick me up for my skin (: Overall I give this toner 4 stars! Recommended for oily skin (I see less oil on days that I use this toner)

So I’ve been using this toner since like around may 2019 and I’ve loved it more than any toner I’ve ever used in the past because let me tell you, this shiz is not playing sis. She is potent as the day is long. Not even smell wise, just in general. If you have just shaved your lady stache or plucked your brows DONT FLIPPIN USE IT YOULL BE A SAD SAP LET ME TELL YOU (maybe that’s a given but not for all of us I assure you) but it definately does it’s job. I’d stay away if you have sensitive skin because this is product did not come to play games. I used to be addicted to picking my skin (mostly my face) like picking things that weren’t there just to pick type of picker and I was literally pulling the skin off my face for several years and finally was able to stop with therapy and learning to keep my hands busy but unfortunately I was left with horrible deep craters in my face all over my cheeks chin and forehead, it was definitely a sad reminder of what I had done to myself every time I had to look in the mirror and applying my makeup felt like trying to spackle my face like I was filling holes in the walls of a run down shanty so I started looking for ways to help even my skin out again, I’m youngish so I still have some precious time to preserve my youth and fix the damage I’ve caused by picking for so many years so I figured might as well give it a shot and this combined with the face wash from this same line by neutrogena have played a pivotal role in rectifying the damage I’ve done to my skin. They’re cheap af too compared to other products I’ve looked at with a similar claim and VERY similar ingredients list but I’d suggest trying it on your arm or neck first to see if you get a reaction because I’ve seen reviews about people getting a bad reaction to it but like I said I think this just might not be for sensitive skin. I’ve got dry skin and I’ve never had a problem with this or the face wash drying my skin out but then again I moisturize like it’s my job so that might play a part in why I don’t experience dryness from this product

The Neutrogena Pore Refining line of products are the best I've ever used. Nothing I've tried has come close to these. I am SO disappointed they discontinued these products! The scrub worked so well that I didn't even need the toner. I stretched out my last container long enough to last until a few months ago. I wish they would bring the toner, face scrub AND spf face cream back... Pleeease!!

I had an OLD OLD OLD bottle of this that I only recently realized is perfect for my aging skin. I bought it in my early 30s and still had it my cusp of 40s. I realized recently that the acids in this toner are perfect for combating sunspots, large pores, skin texture and even fine lines. I now use it almost every night after washing and before using my serums and moisturizer. When I'm feeling lazy, this is my last step and my skin still looks great the next day. When I ran out of my very old bottle, I tried to find it in stores and couldn't so I tried a few other things and my skin started to go back to the blotchy old mess it was. Luckily I found it on here and I'm considering stocking up for the end of the world because now I never want to run out.

I have been using this product for decades. Probably since it first came out. It really does work at shrinking pores and I no longer have black heads. I have tried several other products when I couldn't find this but nothing works as well. That is my only problem with it! Several times it has been unavailable and the price is ridiculous now. Started out under $7. but now costs around $28. Why has it gone up so much over the last few years?
