Great teachings
Love this book; bought this copy for my husband but, his frame of mind wasn't as into it as mune was. It's a great book about the worlds before this one with some great teachings on the destruction of each world (greed)

eyeopening understanding
This book was recommended to me. The guidance also included the book Return of the Bird Tribes. These two books seemed to "mesh" for me. I read the "bird tribes"first and then this one. I encourage anyone with an interest in Native American philosophy to read them both.

classic
A classic story told authentically. I was reading it on the plane and the interest I got from both my neighbors was surprising and genuine. Nice piece of work if you want to expand your knowledge beyond the European perspective on history and time.

Fascinating read!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. A Native American perspective of the lives that walked the world before us. If you enjoy books that make you think, you will not be disappointed.

Wonderful book for any Medicine Worker!
Jamies books are amazing expecially this one. This book's title is in the Rotunda of the Historical Society of Buffalo, NY, a city near and dear to my heart! Reading this book took me back to where I spent much time while growing up in the primal woods with the Standing People, along the Cattaraugus River and the cliffs. I would highly rate this book to anyone on the path. Thank You Jamie for sharing your knowledge of Mother Earth and the Stone People.

Let the Stones Speak
While written 25 years ago, this creation myth is informative in ways that I am not sure I would have appreciated until lately. The story is narrated by a stone, one of the most ancient ones in form on this planet. This perspective and the given language of marks that stones carry into the present helps me to be hopeful as we near the fifth world of illumination.

I enjoy other perspectives on things
Basically Native American creation myth, it has a selective audience. However, I enjoy other perspectives on things. If you enjoy learning about other cultures, then you would enjoy this book.

Simply Beautiful
I first read this book about 15 years ago and it forever changed the way I viewed the natural world around me. The stones, the trees, the rivers became real and personal. I wish this book were required reading for every high school and/or college student. In a perfect world it would also be required reading for their parents.

the truth of our orgins
The diligence of the American Indian nations in maintaining a history that has been lost to the rest of us, is quite remarkable. It will not be long before the world becomes aware of how much of a debt of gratitude we all owe to these incredible people.
