this author excels at writing allegory is to give children the ability to identify with themselves and avoid the incessant need for external validation that most children and adults are addicted to. social media is especially creating an insecure need for constant validation… this book is worth reading over and over again with your children. Good luck.

Max Lucado’s children’s books are always so good as they present a common issue that kids deal with (and adults do too ) and the presents the problem and outcomes of choosing the wrong road and the reasons and outcomes to choose the right and godly path.I read all of these to my grandkids and give them as baby gifts. Such wonderful books to have in their library.

Some books you just want to read over and over again. This is one of those books. It's another wonderful story about the wood carved people known as the Wemmick's. Punchinello is tempted by the peer pressure of his fellow Wemmick's so that he will fit in. Even though Eli, the woodcarver, gently reminds him that there is no importance in looks and the thing that actually makes us special is our own uniqueness. Eli made them each unique and special. The message to the reader then is that we should see our own selves in the same light and not worry about what others think of us.All of Max Lucado's Wemmick books are entertaining, imaginative, well written, and beautifully illustrated. They have a fantastic message about self-esteem and making decisions to do what's right and not be swayed by what other people think is right. All around another wonderful book and a great addition to any kid's library!

I love Max Lucado's Wemmicks stories! This one has an awesome lesson! Basically all the wemmicks are painting their noses different colors to keep up with the fad of what is "cool". In the end, Punchinello (the main character) talks to Eli, the woodcarver (supposed to resemble God), and realizes that he was made special in Eli's image and that fads aren't what makes him great. I couldn't recommend the Wemmick's series enough! The story is a great length, too. Not too long but definitely my go-to book when I want to read my daughter to sleep. She's almost always asleep by the time we finish the story (she's 2).

Found this book after it was suggested to help children understand why they don’t need to fit in by wearing a mask but by standing for what they believe in and know thanks to Drs in the family.

Please I urge you to purchase this book. It is VERY well made ..sturdy cover.. It will last for a lifetime of beautiful story telling ! The concept will never grow old.. DON"T WORRY ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE DO OR SAY !!! Worry about yourself.. Don't concern yourself about trying to be like everyone else. How can you go wrong teaching children this lesson??? Peer pressure is a horrible thing... If this book is able to plant a tiny seed in the back of their minds and they can just put into practice at some point in their lifetime .. I am going to be myself .. and be comfortable knowing other people have experienced the stigma of worrying about being like everyone else... it will be worth every penny you invested in purchasing it.

I love these books for life lessons. totally worth buying when your child is young and reading throughout the childhood. put it away for 5 years and dig it out again later into adolescence, for some significant re-learning of important moral lessons. life-long-books, these are...

あの人と同じ事がやれなければ劣っている、とか、自分が欠けているという幻想を持っていると苦しいですね。そのままで愛されてた、完璧だった、ほかと比べようがないオリジナルでユニークな存在だった、それが私。真実を伝えてくれる本です、私もすぐに幻想を追い掛け始めるので、読むとホッとします。
