Egg white omelet and hollandaise sauce are now on the menu with less waste.
I have only recently learned to make decent hollandaise sauce after years of trying. I caught an online method that uses a blender, and found it to work. When I was a lot younger, there used to be a frozen broccoli with hollandaise sauce that I really loved. I tried to make it many times with the old recipe books, but it always seemed to separate and was too much on the sour side. I found the blender method recently and it works pretty well. I'm a little uncoordinated when it comes to cracking eggs. I often use a knife, but If I hit to hard I split he yoke, and then don't get the proper separation. This device works well, it fits over several size small bowls, and I can crack the egg and use both hands to open it. The white separates quickly in the large holes. I bought one of those plastic ones at the grocery or dollar store, but it didn't work nearly as well. This is quick, and easy to rinse out and be ready for next time. The separator is stainless steel, and brushed finish on the outside and a highly polished chrome like on the inside where the yokes are caught. The yokes come out somewhat cleaner than when I used that plastic thing, so it does the separation better. I can now make both egg white omelets with cheese and spring onions, and hollandaise at the same time for my steamed broccoli. If I'm making my version of egg McMuffins, I can make what they originally intended but was too complex for fast food. That is Eggs Benedict, I'm not sure how it got it's name, but the traitor to me was always the separated hollandaise sauce, which I now make better and faster. The steel device has a small hole in the top side so you can hang on a thin hook or a nail rather than having to fish for it. I've found a lot of recipes that call for either egg yokes or egg whites alone, so this can be very useful because its so efficient. This is something that because of the material and how it's used will be a legacy or heirloom kitchen device. It could last for decades or even centuries. Recommended.

Excellent saves time
Just one thing...it's a tiny bit sharp inside where egg yolk gets cut if you're being too rigorous with it. Gotcto just be patient and let drain without moving bk and forth. Love it tho...I do alot of separating eggs and it rests on bowl so you have free hands to crack the egg.

Easy To Use, Eliminate the Mess
The media could not be loaded. I’ve been separating egg whites from the yolks since I was a kid. We had to separate them to make divinity candy, egg meringue icing and lots of other baking dishes. All this time I have relied on the old transfer between one half the eggshell and the other half – a bit of a messy task. The egg white/yolk separator by Ytoumzi is a real winner. A much better way.For health reasons, my wife can only eat egg whites and we normally have to separate up to half dozen eggs per day. The Ytoumzi separator has made the job so much easier and a lot less messy. The egg separator is about 6.5” long and has a curved handle for ease of use. The front of the separator has a slightly extended lip which sits on the edge of the bowl used to collect the egg whites. There are three drain holes in the separator – about 1” long and almost 3/8” wide. This allows the egg whites to drain from the separator but will not allow the yolk to pass.If you want to be most effective, allow the eggs to come to room temperature before separating. I will confess that most mornings, I do not have or take the time to allow the eggs to come to room temperature. The separator still works, it just takes a little longer. The separator is stainless steel and fits nicely in the silverware section of the dishwasher. There is a hole in the lip of the edge for hanging the separator on a storage hook. We never store the separator, its gets used everyday and immediately after being used, it goes back in the dishwasher.

Excellent Quality, Easy to Use for Baking
I bake a lot and many of my recipes require just egg yolks, not the gooey egg whites around it and I used to crack the egg into my hand and manually separate the yoke from the goo, which is unpleasant to do. I was excited to try this mess free egg separator. I'd never heard of the brand, but was amazed at the heavy stainless steel quality. It has a curved handle, so it's comfortable and easy to hold. The stainless steel construction means it's durable and won't rust and it's very easy to clean. To use it, you hold the separator in one hand and crack the egg into the separator with the other hand over a trashcan. Once you do this, the egg yoke will sit in the center and the egg whites will slip out into the trashcan from the 4 holes on the sides. Depending on the egg, you may have to lightly shake the separator side to side to get the unwanted material to slip out if it's stubborn. I'm very happy with this and have used it many times already to make quiche, cakes, and cookies. The price is very reasonable for the superb quality!

Nothing special
I was looking for something that would keep the yolk from passing thru the slots. I have one that has a rather shallow bowl and thought this would be better....WRONG. Just like the other one I am trying to replace. Yolk just slides thru in spite of the deeper bowl. I am not using but large eggs, so not sure of the problem. Guess I will do it by hand henceforth. I do not recommend this product. Lots of promise, but no delivery.
