Lee Evans Arranges Jerome Kern

Love this compendium of splendid Jerome Kern arrangements. Was looking for the ABRSM Grade 7 'Smoke gets in your eyes' which is therein. But all the rest are great too. Does not lay flat immediately like all stitched versions but gets there with use. Love it.

I have not had a chance to look at the arrangements and the printing is clear and easy to follow. However, there no chords shown against any of the tunes so if you want to follow what he is doing and the chord progressions you have to work it out yourself. Hal Leonard's Jazz Piano Solo series includes the chords and Lee Evans is a jazz piano educator so I do not understand why they are not included in this volume.

Fabulous arrangements. However, I’ve bought it as it has an ABRSM Grade 7 alternative piece, and I was very disappointed to see the piece has quite a significant typo (a missing treble clef in the left hand). I really hope this doesn’t lead to anyone messing up their exam piece.

This is the book I was looking for !
