Always keep extra around
I always keep extra around. They do the job. Make sure you order the right size! I have several size plastic Sta-Wet containers and always have extra sponges on hand. On occasion I found them hard to find when I needed one. Won't let that happen again.

Keeps paint moist
The foam and paper fit the Masterson Stay Wet Palette perfectly. It does wonders keeping acrylic paint wet long enough to keep the same palette going for several days--quite a feat in our dry climate.

Keeps acrylic paints wet and usable for months.
The Masterson palette box system keeps acrylic paints from drying out on the palette after one or two uses. The box, damp sponge and damp special paper keep the paints wet, fresh and usable for several months. A no-brainer for artists who paint in acrylic. I've had the same box for 15 years and change the paper palette and the sponge when needed.

Used to use these
These work really well in the Masterson stay wet box in prolonging the time before the paint dries out, both while painting and for leftovers. I ended up stopping using these, because I use big canvases and was having to buy a lot of this paper for the stay wet palette (alternatives did not work as well). Also, the palette wanting to get moldy, even with the use of hydrogen peroxide every time I cleaned the sponge. Now I just put my paints that I am using in little jars (including if there is a lot of leftover when mixing). If there is a little bit left over, I put it down randomly in a sketchbook (which I also use to clean off excess paint from my brushes )and use that for collage or serendipitous ideas. I just use a shiny old magazine as a palette for mixing. The sta-wet palette is a great tool though, and I did use it for a long time - it changed my painting habits for the better.

Good stuff
These sponges work well with the Sta - Wet palette. Savings on paint, much less waste! Smart little investment.
