Olivia: The Essential Latin Edition Hardcover – Picture Book, October 2, 2007

This is a very funny book. I haven't read any of the English ones but the Latin version is definitely very readable and entertaining. My son (three years old) loves the story of the little pig and what (mis)adventures befall it. Only four stars though as the pictures are not very colorful. If you are looking for something more colorful and equally entertaining in Latin I can recommend  Puer Zingiberi Panis: et Fabulae Alterae (Latin Edition) . There are colorful pictures on every page that my son loves to look at while I'm reading the stories to him.

I bought it for my niece in middle school. She loved it! She loved the book when she was little so this was a great add-on to her Latin studies. Her Latin teacher was also very happy that I found such a great book, so I bought an additional one for the teacher to add to her class library.

Truly a fun introduction to Latin for children who love Olivia . I purchased this book as a gift for my husband. Hopefully, Olivia, our granddaughter, will understand her grandfather's passion and professional interests through the antics of her favorite fictional character (He is a recently retired professor of Greek and Latin.) The illustrations are wonderful as they are in every Olivia book. This would be a truly unique addition to the library of any Classics scholar (or anyone who struggled with Latin in high school).

Nice book for teach young children Latin. I have been teaching 6-8 graders Latin and recently was asked to consider developing a program for teaching younger children. This is one of the books I reviewed. I consider it a good book for its intended target Young Children.

Great Olivia character with charming drawings. My son used it for his Latin class. Make a great gift for Latin student or teachers.

So much fun. Loved the original and decided this was the beat version for grand baby.

My students loved reading this book! So many children's books are written for adults who love Latin but this one is at a level that students can understand and appreciate.

Great story, with comprehensible Latin for free reading. a rarity. I bought three copies for my classroom. I hope the students enjoy reading this in Latin.
